Tetsuya Nomura Is Designing More Characters For Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Acclaimed designer Tetsuya Nomura who is best known for his work on Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy will be designing more than one character for the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Nintendo Switch. A tweet sent out by the Japanese Twitter account for the game reveals that Tetsuya Nomura will be designing characters for an unknown and mysterious organisation in the epic open world JRPG called either “Ira” or “Torna”. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out this fall on Nintendo Switch.

  1. He hate Nintendo, his characters are so bad thay I cannot explain why that hate. Maybe because it’s one of the most important Final Fantasy developers (Sony bound).

  2. Funnily enough, people are actually praising his designs of the characters more than the main characters’ designs.

    But that’s partially because they aren’t as cliche as his existing Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts designs. Plus, fans still miss how good Shulk and Cross’s designs were.

  3. I mean, I think the lead female character in this game (Pyra, I believe) has a terrible design, so the bar’s already pretty low.

    1. Just because it’s an anime design instead of realistic movie-quality design? Your comment is pretty low, but to each his own.

      1. More of the fact that her design is just fan service. Can’t really take the game seriously when the main character is given giant distracting breasts and hardy any clothes to put them in. I expect these designs from games like Senran Kagura, not large scale, story driven (possibly character driven) rpgs. Though it should be said I’m also not a massive fan of the new art style (or old art style depending how far in the series you’re willing to look back) either. There’s nothing wrong with it per se, I just like the art style of Xenoblade 1 a lot more. But that’s the art style, not the character design.

  4. I really hope he doesn’t make a lot. His designs aren’t my favorites. And I hope he doesn’t ever become a director or a part of the writing team at Monolith Soft, because his writing and storytelling is worse, and Kingdom Hearts is the best example of that. Just my opinion.

  5. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4; Awaiting Greatness on Nintendo Switch!}

    I wonder if he did Pyra’s design.

      Either way, I can’t wait to see what other characters he designed as I like his designs.
