Although it wasn’t always the case, the CEMU emulator is now capable of playing Mario Kart 8 in 8K. However, because most current PCs don’t play YouTube videos in 8K, a supersampled 4K clip was instead created of a game that was originally playing in 8K. Nevertheless, the end result is pretty glorious. You can check it out in the video below. The PC specs used to run the game at 32840×2160 include an i7-6700k processor and a GTX 1080 Ti.

Yeah a while now if I’m correct. But it’s not really mainstream to consumers yet. There is 8k tvs but are very expensive
8k is even more useless than 4k.

I feel like 8K is excessive. 4K MIGHT be cool for games using high res, realistic graphics, but for everything else, I feel like 1080p @ 60 frames should be the standard this Gen, and most games can’t even hit 60 fps.
When almost all games are 1080, 60 fps, then let’s talk 4k. then, When most games reach 4K @ 60fps, THEN let’s talk 8 K, and honestly, that’s probably 10 years away.

I have a 4K TV. I just tried watching it. After getting it to finally stream (damn IP) it looks worse overall than switch. Not sure why, just looks less polished. The upped resolution adds nothing when the textures aren’t high res as well, it’s just pointless.
