It’s a difficult task to decide the best video games of all-time. UK publication EDGE recently published theirs and now Japanese publication Weekly Famitsu have published the readers favourite games of all time. Interestingly, it is Persona 5 which the readers have declared the best video game of all-time and even more interesting is the fact that Splatoon for the Wii U sits at number three. You can check out the top ten games of all-time by Weekly Famitsu readers, below.
- Persona 5 (PS4/PS3)
- Dragon Quest III (FC/SFC/GBC/iOS/Android/PS4/3DS)
- Splatoon (Wii U)
- NieR: Automata (PS4/PC)
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/Wii U)
- Final Fantasy VII (PS/PS4/PC/iOS/Android)
- Danganronpa V3 (Vita/PS4)
- Chrono Trigger (SFC/PS/DS/iOS/Android)
- Sakura Taisen (SS/DC/PC/PSP)
- Shenmue (DC)

Honestly, we’ll probably need another year or so to determine the longevity of Persona 5. It’s still got recency bias on it’s side.
Still, it being at the top is something I don’t mind. While I wouldn’t call it my favorite game, it deserves its praise.
