Reddit user Neiteio previously raised concerns over the general look of Snake Pass’ menu icon on the Switch. He advised that before, the home menu icon showed the title of the game and the main character against a backdrop of ruins and greenery, and after it had been changed to an image of the snake’s face with “bulbous eyes and a goofy grin.”
A nice follow up from this, following similar backlash on Twitter, has shown that Sumo Digital has taken on board the feedback, and the icon will be getting fixed.
The developer responded with: “We’ve definitely taken the feedback on board and will be changing the icon back with the next update which is due early next year. It’ll mean the branding isn’t unified but our focus is on our players and community so we’re OK with that.”

Lol yea I own the game , it’s just a picture of the snake head no big deal to me. It’s just something so trivial to me but must be important to some I guess
It just has to do with not conforming to the suggested standard. So since it’s different, every time you look at the games list your eye jumps to the thing that stands out, and that bugs some people. I think Nintendo should actually enforce the standard instead of just encouraging it.
Well the icon can be useful for someone who wants to see the game.
I think there’s more at stake than you’d realize when an icon doesn’t look good. Glad they can make the adjustment.
Simply because people like to bitch. With everything going on in he world, who’s gives a flying flip what a freaking icon looks like.
As I told shadowvegeta, consider the icon like box art. ESPECIALLY for those that only do digital.
And the first on it had was pretty neat.
Because some people value aesthetics. Myself included.

How about we get rid of the pictures all together, and just have a list of text.
I hope I never have a reason to complain about the icon of a game I have on Switch. I’m happy with LoZ: BotW’s icon. Hopefully I’ll like the icons for Fire Emblem Warriors & Super Mario Odyssey, too.
I buy physical only, so no worries here. But I do understand you want a nice looking system when icons is all the system is xD
