Sometimes, a game’s official Nintendo page will provide more details, including info that we didn’t know previously. An example of this is Nintendo UK’s page for Bayonetta 2. While the game’s Tag Climax mode was already known, the page revealed that you will be able to play locally in this version. Local multiplayer was not supported in the Wii U version of Bayonetta 2. As for amiibo, you will be able to use them to “unlock a number of Nintendo-themed costumes for Bayonetta to wear, weapons to use and more”. The Wii U version of the game also had amiibo unlocks, including costumes, but this is the first time we’re hearing about this feature in the Switch version. You will still be able to unlock the costumes normally as you progress through the game.
Join forces with a friend – whether across the room or across the world – to fight through waves of enemies in the local and online multiplayer Tag Climax mode***. Choose from a range of powerful characters, and give angels and demons a beating that’s as brutal as it is beautiful.
By tapping in compatible amiibo (sold separately), you can instantly unlock a number of Nintendo-themed costumes**** for Bayonetta to wear, weapons to use and more!
Wow multiplayer sounds great.
were amiibo out when bayo 2 launched? didn’t they release with sm4sh which came out later on wii U.
It released on the Wii U in October 2014.
>Multiplayer Tag Climax Mode.
More fucking Amiibo Microtransactions. Great…
I don’t see how its a bad thing? Its purely cosmetic and the amiibo works with a shit ton of different games across multiple systems. Its not the same as a regular micro transaction.
$13 to unlock a content that’s already in the game. That’s borderline Microtransactions ecosystem you dunce. If I pay full price for a game, I expect plentiful of content in it’s package and that I’m able to play to unlock, not pay to play. Learn the difference. Amiibo = Microtranscation in a useless plastic toy instead of a virtual currency in a rigged randomized loot crate drop.
This. I don’t know why people think that Amiibo are the equivalent to microtransactions… you are buying a COLLECTIBLE of your favorite Nintendo characters, and it has the added functionality of unlocking content in MULTIPLE games. I think that’s worth the $13. It’s not like Amiibo are used to get the edge on other players online or anything like with Loot Boxes.
Content that doesn’t really change the main game whatsoever. You are wasting time bitching about the wrong stuff.
It’s funny because he’s complaining about amiibos having content behind them (they do but it’s not anything to whine about.) Calling them useless toys despite them having content and stuff on them, and having a use
Amiibo gets used in a game: their locking content behind paywall, people complain about amiibo having no content, and when it does it’s a problem. And in bayonettas case (and others. The content in the game and isn’t available without having an amiibo.
Is available without having amiibo*
> You will still be able to unlock the costumes normally as you progress through the game.
Theres a huge difference though. Amiibo are a one time payment, you an use them as many times as you like, and you can use them on damn near every Nintendo game, and you get something physical to keep. I can live with this quite happily
Again, I don’t like the idea of paying extra to get bundled content through a useless fucking toy. What part of that you morons don’t get yet? Unless there’s a game or two that you can USE THEM FIGURES TO PLAY, THEY’RE WORTHLESS CASH GRABS TURNED INTO PAYWALLS!
Stranga…
what a moron, you fucking casual…
their saying you do not need stupid pieces of plastic to unlock extra shit in the game as you can do it normally…
repeat 1000 times until stranga gets it right…

Says the self-racist shit talking his own activist hero who took a bullet for your freedom. Fucking asshole.
Do us all a favor, STFU and stay out of here permanently before you starting talking dumb shit about Malcom X or Harriet Tubman next.
You can unlock everything without Amiibo. The Amiibo only allow early unlocks. You won’t have anything kept from you, unlike some other EA and Activision games we know.
Man, they’re giving more and more reasons for me to not pass up Bayonetta again.
So, just the costumes that were in the game originally, or is there going to be new costumes?
I would kill for a Kirby costume.
You are wrong about amiibo usage in the Wii u version. Amiibo weren’t released until smash bros for Wii u in November 2014 and bayonetta came out in October. As far as I’m aware they never patched in amiibo usage for this game later. So this is a new feature also for the switch version
