Both the Nintendo Switch and Virtual Reality devices such as PlayStation VR have proved to be very popular in the United Kingdom, so much so that they have both helped push UK video games sales to a record-breaking £5 billion. Devices such as the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X grew a whopping thirty percent to £659 million. Here’s what Dorian Bloch, director, entertainment at GfK. had to say:
“It is clear that the console gaming market is now enjoying a renaissance,” said Dorian Bloch, director, entertainment at GfK. “Nintendo’s Switch has enjoyed the best [sales] start for a Nintendo home console since the mighty Wii back in 2006.”
