THQ Nordic Acquires The TimeSplitters And Second Sight Series

THQ Nordic has put out a press release to inform fans that the company has successfully obtained the TimeSplitters and Second Sight series. Both of those franchises are fan favourites, especially the Timesplitters series which was a huge hit back in the day. Here’s what the company says about the acquisition:

“Timesplitters was largely considered as one of the most influential console games of the early 2000’s. The three game series earned a large and passionate fan base thanks to its unique humour, art style and pop culture references while encouraging customization and modification to give each person their own individual experience.  Timesplitters was originally created by the development studio Free Radical Design that later become Deep Silver Dambuster, part of the THQ Nordic group.

In addition to Timesplitters, the IP and the rights to science fiction action-adventure game Second Sight were acquired. Both acquisitions were made through THQ Nordic’s fully owned subsidiary Koch Media GmbH.”

  1. The world needs another TimeSplitters game. They simply don’t make shooters like it anymore, and for no good reason.

THQ Nordic has obtained SO many company assets and yet, I feel like they do not do much with them. The only major releases I can recall from them over the past couples YEARS since they have started buying up intellectual property are De Blob and the Metro series. They also had that Legend of Kay remake on Wii U which made its way to the Switch.

The company FINALLY has Darksiders III coming out (not for Switch) this November and this will be their biggest creation yet since adding “Nordic” to their name. Where is Red Fraction, Saints Row, Dead Island, Destroy All Humans, and Splashdown?
