Illumination, the studio currently producing the Super Mario movie in partnership with Nintendo, has apparently seen little impacts from the coronavirus pandemic. This is because the remote working that has become a new normal for so many people has been an established practice for production of animated movies, especially at Illumination. In fact, Deadline has reported that “a source close to Illumination described the past two months as an extremely productive, innovative and creative time at the company”, suggesting that things are still going okay.
I still can’t believe that after going through all the animation studios, they went with Illumination.
Their animation is good. Now, the quality of their movies is hit or miss, so maybe Nintendo is on top of them to ensure a hit
If there’s any potty humor in the movie I’m going to be so sad.
