Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp adds AR mode and free month of Furniture & Fashion Plan

For the past three years, the free-to-start Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp game for smart devices has offered instant relaxation and recreation at players’ very own campsite, all from the palm of their hand. From building furniture and campsite amenities campsite to enjoying the “great outdoors” with fishing and bug collecting, players have brought all kinds of personal touches to their cosy camping spots.

As veteran campers know, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp features familiar faces and fan-favourite characters from the Animal Crossing series. Now the game is bringing some of these characters to life in different ways today with the AR Camera mode and the AR Cabin mode. With AR Camera, players will be able to choose a real-world spot and place their favourite Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp pals and furniture within the scene to snap a shot.

With AR Cabin, players be able to enter the same space as their animal pals and spend time with them face-to-face. Players design a Cabin with furniture and amenities of their choice, then invite up to eight different characters they love to join them. They can overlay the Cabin door anywhere in real life, “enter” the Cabin they created and explore inside their AR Cabin.

And that’s not all! Starting today, additional areas in players’ personal campsites in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will become available for them to place furniture and items, so there’s even more room to personalise campsites and enjoy the great outdoors. Anyone curious about joining the camping community for the first time, or players who’ve been around for a while, can enjoy a free month of the Furniture & Fashion Plan, which is normally priced at £7.99 / €8.99*.

The Furniture & Fashion Plan is great for collecting lots of clothing and furniture items. One of the perks of this plan is getting to choose and eat five fortune cookies each month out of the cookies on sale so far**. Fortune cookies contain exclusive furniture and clothing. The plan also offers expanded storage for items, among other benefits, so it’s a great way to dive in and experiment with some of the fun the game has to offer.
