
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been incredibly popular worldwide, but sales in Japan have been absolutely amazing. Data driven Twitter account Game Data Library has revealed that the immensely cute Nintendo Switch game is the first game in Japan to have topped 6 million sales at retail since the launch of New Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo DS. The game has just seen the release of the big Winter update which you can read more about here.

So, about 1/3 of the Japanese Switch owners have the game in physical (assuming that the charts don’t include digital sales)
