5 more titles are coming to the NES & SNES Switch Online collections on December 18th

Nintendo’s SNES Switch Online collection has been live for over a year, and it has been a while now since updates to Nintendo’s NES Switch Online collection decreased in frequency and quantity. Still, both collections have been getting updates every few months, and the latest one has just been announced.

On December 18th, 5 more games are coming. On the SNES collection, it is receiving Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble, The Ignition Factor, Super Valis IV, and Tuff E Nuff. For the NES collection, Nightshade is being added. You can see Nintendo’s official announcement tweet down below.

      1. I still don’t think we’ll see N64 till next September. At the very least I was correct in Predicting DKC would be the second half of this year and N64 wouldn’t be this year. I think we’ll get either Earthbound or Mario RPG by next summer

        1. I really hope this Switch App is carried over to the next console. It would suck having our selection reset again when the trickle of games are slow as is. At this pace they could milk this for another 8 years before moving on to the gamecube.

    1. It’s even m preffered version of DKC3. I honestly could never really get into the GBA version of the game. The new soundtrack was always too much of a deal breaker for me.

      1. I actually preferred the GBA soundtrack, there are a couple of really good tracks from the original but overall the SNES one leans a bit too much on the ambience.

      2. Oh yeah, it’s definitely a matter of preference. I don’t really blame anyone for liking the GBA version better. The SNES version was simply the first one I played and I have a lot of nostalgia for it. I actually kinda like that ambient feel. Plus, the GBA version has that one alpine song including yodeling or something like that. For some reason, it always kinda disturbed me. It might be a bit exaggerated, but I think that one song alone kinda soured the entire GBA soundtrack for me, because I just couldn’t really disconnect the two in my head, and I just disliked that one song so much, it felt so wrong to me. But again, this is pretty much just speaking from a place of nostalgia. Don’t really blame anyone for liking the GBA version.

  1. So, I just checked out the video of the games. The Ignition Factor looks really good and Nightshade is often mentioned in hidden gem videos.
But what’s this Donkey Kong Country 3 game? Must be some indie game that no one has ever heard of. No one will probably ever play it.
Joking aside, we got a really good lineup this time around. Although I’m still waiting for Super Mario RPG and Earthbound.
Here’s hoping for GBA or N64 to show up soon.
