CyberConnect2 announcing new game in February and it will “shake the world”

The talented individuals at Japanese gaming studio CyberConnect2 have announced that they are planning to showcase a brand new game in February. The mysterious new game is currently scheduled to be released this summer, so we won’t have long to wait until its release. CyberConnect2 CEO, Hiroshi Matsuyama, said that the company’s new game will “definitely get people talking, and promises to be something that will shake the world.” Mr. Matsuyama also says that they are planning celebrations for the 20th anniversary .hack series in June and he also provided updates sales figures for their games:

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles has surpassed 1.32 million units worldwide.
  • Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has surpassed 4.5 million units worldwide.
  • Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has surpassed 8.7 million units worldwide.

    1. Probably? Yes. But, would a new anime fighter shake the world? I don’t know.

      Maybe something original like Asura’s Wrath was at the time with current tech would have a greater impact.

      1. Tbf, “shake the world” is not really an accurate translation of what he said. It is actually somewhat closer to something like make the headlines and cause a sensation.

        Anyhow, my bet is on either a new anime fighter or a new hack game.
        I don’t mind if it turned out to be something original, that would be cool.

        Since you mentioned Asura’s Wrath btw, now I’m also thinking about how much I want to see a remastered port on current consoles.
