SEGA has announced that Japanese consumers can get their hands on the Mega Drive Mini 2 this October. What’s different about this product from the last Mega Drive Mini console, you may ask? Well for starters, this version will include Mega CD games such as the classic Snatcher and Sonic the Hedgehog CD. The SEGA Mega Drive 2 will come with 50 games included and SEGA is announcing them in batches. Those of you wondering when we will get it here in the west will have to wait as SEGA seems awfully quiet about it. So far the following list of games have been revealed for the system which is launching in Japan on 27th October:
- Bonanza Bros.
- Fantasy Zone (Arcade port)
- Magical Tarurūto-kun
- Mansion of Hidden Souls
- Popful Mail
- Shining Force CD
- Shining in the Darkness
- Silpheed
- Sonic CD
- Thunder Force IV
- Virtua Racing

Solid lineup for the Sega Cd. Hope it does well, but not sure that it will. Customer awareness on most of these games just isn’t very high.
Yeah, plus I am sure that most people are happy with their current Mega Drive Mini. I’d rather have had a Saturn Mini, but as the original didn’t sell too well, I’m not sure if it’s worth it for SEGA.
Like… A 32X mini or something. There is no legit way to play Knuckles Chaotix these days.
