Rumour: Dead by Daylight losing rights to Leatherface and will be removed

Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre in Dead by Daylight

The Dead By Daylight leaks and news account is reporting that Leatherface will be removed from all store fronts soon due to the developer losing the rights to the fictional character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film series. One of the apparent moderators from the DBDLeaks discord suggested it is due to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game which is currently being developed by Sumo Digital and published by Gun Interactive sometime this year. Dead by Daylight developers, Behaviour Interactive Inc, haven’t confirmed that Leatherface is leaving and if he is, the reason.

    1. i thinks its more that the right has expired/ended and not that having the character in another game would cannibalize sales when the game comes out. is it a factor? probably but its more on the smaller scale.

      1. No you’re right, that’s exactly why. But thats not an issue for normal game releases. They release in full, and then that’s it

  1. I dont really think there is a demographic for a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game…. if there is, it’s more than likely just upset at losing bubba (or glad he’s gone) pustula bubba with make your choice will be sorely missed, hopefully we get him one more halloween
