Update: Confirmed during the Nintendo Direct
It seems another game has potentially leaked ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct which kicks off at 2pm PT/ 10pm UK time. The game is new entry in the music-based series Samba de Amigo and is titled Samba de Amigo Party Central and was leaked via the SnoopyTech Twitter account. Samba de Amigo Party Central screenshots along with the game’s description were all published online and you can check them out in the image gallery down below. The original game was developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA.
“Samba de Amigo: Party Central marks the return of the rhythm action series with a playlist that will get you and your friends moving thanks to 40 hits from the world’s most popular genres including EDM, pop, Latin, and more. Plus, with a wide variety of mini-games and challenges to enjoy; a ton of unique costumes and accessories to unlock and wear; and new online features – including an 8-player World Party mode, there’s plenty of fuel to ignite the party!”
Honestly a weird surprise, probably won’t buy it, but goodness it’s nice to see Sega rely on their other franchises instead of just throwing sonic out there every second cause they need money, and he’s more marketable.
Yeah, it’s nice to see SEGA resurrect some of their old IPs every once in a while. Like they did for Space Channel 5 on PS VR.
This is a series I never had interest in playing but it’s nice to see Sega make use of their other legacy IPs from time to time. I wish they’d make another Rhythm Thief game though.
