Film and TV studio Legendary has revealed that it now has the rights to the much loved Street Fighter franchise to create new shows based on the fighting games for both cinema and TV. Legendary says that it will be working very closely with Capcom to deliver the goods. This also will tie into the release of the highly anticipated Street Fighter 6 video game which is due out on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this summer. The Street Fighter series has shifted over 49 million copies worldwide.

If they do a new Anime I hope they actually do it right.
Meh, I rather take a SF anime series over any live-action project tbh.
They’ve done great with Godzilla, so I’m not worried.
I am. Unlike in the Monsterverse films (where Godzilla, Kong and the other monsters are the main focus), the main cast in SF consists of (primarily) humans, and that right there could easily end up a ‘mixed bag’ to say the least.
The only known modern live-action SF films or series where the human cast does ‘look good’ are all fan projects that were given the thumbs-up by Capcom for their hard efforts.
I hope whatever they do, they do the fanbase justice. I’d like to see a new anime.
