There is still more details coming in for the new 2.5D Sonic game that was announced by SEGA at Summer Game Fest very recently. A demo of Sonic Superstars, however, is also playable at Summer Game Fest. Footage has been gradually coming out of the game, though most of it has been off-screen footage.

Well, there has been some more off-screen footage of the game. The footage showcases only a couple of levels that are included in the game, but there is around 15 minutes of gameplay of Sonic Superstars. You can see the gameplay footage in full down below.

  1. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Sonic Superstars, this is everything i had hoped for a classic Sonic game. Sonic got a new 2d classic look.

  2. I might be overly pessimistic now, but its like history repeating it self.

Sonic fans have been eating good with the movies and frontiers, and ive been enjoying it, but i cant help feel SEGA are in for a fail now. Cmon, the mania team set you up for a win SEGA, why have you got another team involved?!! EVEN just in a quality control capacity, check the physics are good at a minimum.

Yes it looks good, but so did sonic 4 to me, and that turned out turd.

I WANT this to be amazing, but until its in our hands i’m going to sit with my hopes held low.

    1. Yeah, this is one I won’t fully believe in until it’s in my hands. I do think the physics look right just from watching, but obviously without actually playing, you can’t actually tell how it feels.

It’s also hard to imagine this can be a success at $60 but hey, I hope it justifies that price point.

    2. People have done some video analyses, and one of them showed that his walk to run frames line up perfectly with the original trilogy.

I don’t blame you for the pessimism, I encourage it even, but there’s still hope
