IGN is sadly reporting this morning that Emile Morel, who was the creative director behind Beyond Good and Evil 2, has suddenly passed away at the age of 40. Mr. Morel has been working at Ubisoft since 2009 and was extremely proud with what he and the team had accomplished with Beyond Good and Evil 2. The tragic news was shared from Mr. Morel’s Linked In page with colleagues leaving their heartfelt respects on his page. It is not apparent what will happen with the Beyond Good & Evil 2 project, but we will keep you updated if we hear anything. Our thoughts are with Mr. Morel’s family and friends.

On another note, I find it very inappropriate to even speculate on his cause of death. None of us know what it is, and it is up to his family if they want to disclose it. Although it seems many people have already decided without even knowing him, it could have been anything from a hereditary disease to a suicide. Please stop speculating.

He pass on so soon. I understand the family or friends don’t want to reveal his cause of death to the public.
Im guessing he died of the thing you are not allowed to say aloud.
