A rumour is doing the rounds which claims that Ubisoft has decided to cancel a sequel to the charming Immortals Fenyx Rising. The sequel was apparently in early development at Ubisoft Quebec and it was canceled due to “perceived challenges around establishing the IP.” Ubisoft has said that they are looking to focus on their most profitable IPs as the cost of game development continues to grow. It will be interesting to see if Ubisoft revisit the game in the future.
Rumour: Ubisoft has apparently cancelled a Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel

I bought game for the kids when it was 11 dollars used and they played it for 10 minutes and never touched it again. They say it is boring.
I have Breath of the Wild and Tears of The Kingdom and they play that all the time. Surprisingly they still play Breath of the Wild. They have even beaten Breath Of The Wild a few times and yet they play it still.
I am not sure what is wrong with the game that made it boring but my kids just dont find it interesting. Ubisoft in my opinion should just fold and quit the game industry. The company has to many issues. They are the Bud Light of gaming.
Sadly I’m not surprised if true, the game wasn’t the big hitter that they wanted and will likely never touch it ever again, kind of why I believe we’ll never see another Watch_Dogs game since the last one kind of flopped as well.
Ubisoft is a numbers company, they don’t care for whether people like their games or not, they think about the numbers and if a game does well sales wise even with mediocre to poor scores, they’ll keep pumping them out.
Honestly, I’m not that surprised: I played a good two or three hours of the game, but couldn’t get invested at all
loved the game for what it was. didnt finish but played a solid 15-20 hours, wish they would have made a sequel. it was disgusting looking on switch tho
I’m glad that somebody liked it, and I mean that was zero sarcasm
I couldn’t play the game because it was trying to force me to use a ubisoft account despite being a singleplayer game.
Such a shame. I was really looking forward to it.
Bought this on clearance at Best Buy two years ago for like $15.
Still haven’t even taken the plastic off of it.
Keep it in the plastic. It’s more valuable that way.
Right? Plus the digital version goes on sale like every other week, for a week. If the bug to play it really bites me, I’ll just wait for that.
Exactly. In all honesty though, it’s not a bad game. It was just Ubisoft trying to charge AAA prices on a 1.5 A game. If you go into it knowing it’s an ok game, that you’ll most likely only play for a few hours, you’ll be good. I wouldn’t pay anymore than than $15 for it though.
I must admit, when I first saw the trailer for this game I was excited and the fact that Ubisoft was trying to clone botw it felt like a good thing, but unfortunately after playing it for just a short while when it finally released I lost interest pretty quick.
It just didn’t feel right, if you know what I mean!
IMHO, it was primarily the name that killed the original game. I dunno what it was, but the moment they announced that name, the game immediately felt unappealing to me. I was like “what the heck is a Fenyx”? It’s not a snappy name, just a very weird one that actually tells you nothing at all about the game itself. This isn’t really how you name the first entry to a new franchise. It sounds more like a sequel name.
It’s funny, because I do actually vaguely remember that I was sort of interested in the game before they announced that name.
I loved it. So did my kids, spouse, & bro-in-law. Hah
I’m surprised how many people hate it. It’s no RDR2 but the dialogue is witty/silly & there’s plenty to do in a decent-sized open world. I guess there are just too many other great games to play. I will say that requiring a Ubi account is trash though. And my main complaint is that the combat gets pretty old after a while. But if you like tiny/brainless puzzles & collecting a bunch of outfits, gear, weapons it can be a lot of fun. Go watch a real review if you’re thinking of getting it. I certainly think it’s more than worth the sale prices of ~$10.
It’s like AC Odyssey & BotW made a quirky baby that nobody wants to play with, apparently.
I played the demo and really liked it. But thanks for the warning, I wont play a game if I need to sign in to some account to play it.
