Midori says Persona 1 & 2 will get remakes too

There has been a lot of rumors swirling around in regards to SEGA and Atlus’ future plans. A big reason for that is due to insider information that has been coming from Midori. Midori is the same user that had leaked the existence of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica before they were officially announced.

Well, she’s got even more information to share. Earlier today, Midori reconfirmed information she shared previously and said that Persona 4 is still getting a remake. However, that’s not all. Midori has also mentioned on Twitter that Persona 1 and Persona 2 are also going to be receiving remakes. You can see her tweet about the matter down below.

  1. The laziness of the games industry constantly churning out “remakes” and “remasters”. It’s cheaper for them to make, but they don’t pass on the savings to consumers.

      1. Oh, you mean like Final Fantasy 7, Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4? Made for modern audience? Censored and changed for the worse while the original games are no longer available? Yeah… sure. Keep dreaming.

        1. resident evil 2 eremake was awesome i didnt see any censorship the game had alot of gore id say more than the original on ps1 which was awesome by the way 7’s remake had too much queer agenda pandering so i ditched the game the queers are ruining games with the no gender bullsit!

  2. Great, mire remake trash and possible wokeness and censorship. Can’t wait to only get those “modernized” remade games and not the original games just like Resident Evil 2.

    1. Remake is the same but improved gameplay for newer systems. Remasters change a lot of stuff but overall is the same.

Even devs mix them up. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is actually a remaster. And HD remasters which are the same game just upscaled are technically remakes. Maybe remaster makes them sound more fancy.

Nope. A remaster is using the original game (master code) and upscaling textures, gfx, sounds, maybe adding new content. FF10 & 10/2 HD as an example.

A remake is like ff7 and the recent resi’s. Remade from the ground up, possibly changing a lot or keeping everything the same, maybe changing gameplay mechanics all together. What’s changed is on a game by game basis and doesn’t define if a game is a remake or remaster.

      2. That’s not what remake and remaster means. FF7R is remade from the ground up, so it is indeed a remake. An argument could be made that it is so far removed from the source material that it could be labeled as a “reimagining”, but it’s not a remaster in any capacity.

    2. A remake is built from the ground up, while a remaster takes the same game and does a few touch ups. Think of a cake, remaking one means that you’re making an entirely new one, you can change an ingredient here or there, add new ingredients, and when it’s finished, you can add a little bit of something to it. Any changes you wish to make along the way you have the complete freedom to do so. A remaster means you aren’t changing those ingredients, but you can still remove and change the icing while still adding a bit more touch ups to the outer edge if you desire. It’s still fundamentally the same game you used before, same ingredients/coding. A port would be taking the original cake as is with no changes to it whatsoever. Hope this makes sense.
