Ubisoft has confirmed that the bouquet of flowers in Beyond Good & Evil 20th anniversary edition which can be found lying on a bench in Hillys centre and include an envelope marked simply by the letter E, is indeed a tribute to Emil Morel, the veteran Ubisoft Montpellier developer, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 40. Mr. Morel was the lead game designer behind the excellent Rayman Legends game. He was also the creative director for the long-delayed Beyond Good & Evil 2, which Ubisoft recently confirmed is still in development.
Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

i must have it!!!
I feel like Beyond 2 is like, the last creative breath from Ubisoft, I hope it comes out and it’s a masterpiece, Ubisoft used to make absolute classics
I remember when this death was initially reported. It’s nice that Ubisoft paid tribute to Emil. I said it before and I’ll say it again, 40 is so young to die at. He should have lived at least twice as long.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 will never see the light of day.
That game is in development hell, there hasn’t been a single development update since they last shown gameplay, Ubisoft is ran by a complete clown developers and idiot greedy corrupt CEO, and it will get silently canceled in the near future.
Also, it’s another live service game, so even if by some miracle it gained that 1 percent chance of getting released it will be DOA as another overpriced $140+ microtransactions riddled live service with more boring Ubisoft stale gameplay design.
I just find it funny how people still think Ubisoft is capable of making a fun game when all they do is just churn out the same old crap over and over again but with a new character model to play as, and not any good looking ones at that.
The very last few games they actually tried to do something innovative with was ZombiU, Starlink, Mario Rabbids, and Immortals Fenyx Rising, everything else they make is just reskinned versions of Farcry, AC, and some boring 3rd person generic shooter or FPS.
God, that company is full of a bunch of boring creative bankrupt keyboard social activist weirdos.
