Super Mario Bros., which was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, eventually became one of the best-selling video games of all time. The game has sold more than 58,000,000 copies worldwide in the years since its release. It has been re-released on numerous platforms, including the Nintendo Switch Online NES library.
When another video game manages to surpass that milestone, it isn’t easy. However, this is something that Terraria has managed to do. A few weeks ago, Re-Logic confirmed that Terraria has now sold 58,700,000 copies, with 32,000,000 being on PC alone. When revealing the sales milestone, Re-Logic said that “It has been quite some time since we gave an update on just how massive the Terraria fanbase has grown. This was somewhat by design, as we had our sights set on doing so once we passed a somewhat-obscure game about a plumber and his brother trying to save a princess from this dragon-turtle thing”.

This news is even more ironic considering the developer of Terraria developed Super Mario Brothers X.
