Hideki Kamiya wants to work on Okami 2 & Viewtiful Joe 3

Hideki Kamiya, creator of Okami, Bayonetta & Devil May Cry, isn’t with Platinum Games anymore. In fact, he is currently unemployed. However, he has been thinking about his future in video gaming development, and if a recent interview is any indicator, he already knows exactly where and what he wants to do next.

You see, Kamiya recently appeared in an UNSEEN interview with Ikumi Nakamura. There, Kamiya revealed that he isn’t retiring and wants to do Okami 2 and Viewtiful Joe 3 with Capcom. He wants to do an Okami sequel for 2 reasons. For one, Okami ranked high on a Capcom survey gauging fan interest in the company’s game IPs and characters. Another reason is that he still wants to finish Okami’s story, which he feels is incomplete.

As for Viewtiful Joe 3, he simply wants to work on that. It wasn’t one of the survey’s possible choices, so he actually sent Capcom a response saying that “I am Hideki Kamiya, let me make Viewtiful Joe’s sequel”. He says that, despite Capcom highlighting some fan comments, his input wasn’t reflected in the survey results. You can see the video where Kamiya talked about the matter down below.

  1. Bro is just salty that he lost a way to make money by himself, and is whining about Capcom not doing what he wanted.
As much as I love the games he made under Clover Studio, they weren’t profitable for the company to stay afloat, hence why it got shut down.
And he killed Bayonetta with the latest game, so even as a director, he’s washed up.

    1. For The Love Of God

Dear Capcom: LET THE MAN FINISH HIS OKAMI STORY! I BESEECH YOU AS THIS ‘CHALLENGE’ PRESENTS MANY MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU!

  2. Listen Capcom, I doubt you’ll read this or even care, but I’m going to need you to hop off of Street fighter, Resident Evil, and monster Hunter for a few years and bring back Kamiya so he can give us Viewtiful Joe 3.

And maybe give us a new mega Man game while you’re at it
