Nintendo Music app announced, available now

The end of the Nintendo Switch life is rapidly approaching, and the reveal of the next console is supposed to be coming within the next 5 months. However, as of late Nintendo has been announcing just about everything except their next console. There has even been a playtest program and an alarm clock. The latest example of this is no exception.

Nintendo has announced a new smart-device app called Nintendo Music. It is exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online players, and it allows users to stream or download music from the various soundtracks Nintendo has released over the years, including games that are decades old. The app is now available on iOS and Android devices. You can see the reveal trailer for the app down below.

    1. It actually seems like a nice app. The spoiler prevention feature and being able to extend some tracks up to one hour is pretty neat.

  1. I love this so much!!! What an insanely good bonus, feels great to have this added for free as a NSO subscriber w/ downloads instead having to like pay for a subscription for it 😭

    I love it!! :D

Kirby & Ocarina of Time OSTs here I come… >:)

  2. oh my fucking god they finally did something with their music dear GOD. im still gonna listen my nintendo music trough my mp3 though fuck that

  3. Just downloaded and had a quick look around it. It’s cool but first disappointment is that the Fire Temple music from Ocarina Of Time is a massively truncated version that only lasts 40 seconds. It’s obviously related to the whole Islamic chanting from some of the earlier versions but I don’t understand why the updated version without the chants isn’t here. Bizarre

  4. ok im eating my words, the app is really cute and im glad nintendo did this! the selection of music is incredibly lacking though, it’s ok though it just came out, but man no mother music? no sunshine? 3D WORLD WITH THAT AMAZING JAZZ BAND??!! please nintendo don’t let this app die this could be incredibly good.

    1. Cool. Should have had something like this years ago, especially since they go after everyone, but better late than never.

Also, end of Switch life is rapidly approaching? I understand what you’re saying, we’ll see how long they do dual releases. Should be interesting.

    1. Why go through a third party when you can do it yourself…? It’s also a way for them to stay in control.

And if one day, Nintendo decides to release games on pc like sony or microsoft, they won’t go through steam gog or epic; they will develop their own application simply because they take advantage of each game… Valve asks for a 30% commission for example.

  5. Nintendo sure took their time doing something official like this with their music (I know people, myself included, have been asking for this for ages), but atleast its here now.

  6. With how many great soundtracks Nintendo has, hopefully they don’t take the same approach to adding them to the app the same way they do the game app libraries on the Switch.

Already checked for F-Zero music- only thing F-Zero-related is the results music for the F-Zero tracks from Mario Kart 8. Not even actual F-Zero! Don’t make me wait for the X, GX, and Climax soundtracks, dammit!

    1. Also how fucking weird they put the ost of tomodachi collection instead of life? This is by far the most head scratching decision they did with this app

    1. it is but Smash is not likely due to all the rights that would be involved since these seem to be full soundtracks of a given game.

  7. After downloading the Nintendo Music app, I’m completely sold. A few soundtracks from Nintendo are just the start and more of them are still to come!
