The best-selling Nintendo Switch games

Nintendo has cuts its annual profit forecast by 10% as Nintendo Switch sales slow, but software sales for Nintendo’s current console remain solid. The Kyoto-based company has updated its software sales list revealing the best-selling games on the system since it launched in March 2017. The best-selling video game on the Nintendo Switch remains Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by a fairly substantial margin.

Top 10 best-selling Nintendo Switch games:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 64.27M
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 46.45M
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 35.14M
  • Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32.29M
  • Super Mario Odyssey – 28.50M
  • Pokemon Sword/Shield – 26.44M
  • Pokemon Scarlet/Violet – 25.69M
  • Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 21.04M
  • Super Mario Party – 20.98M
  • New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.77M

Recently released Nintendo Switch games:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – 2.58M
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door – 1.94M
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – 1.57M

  1. If those same games that released recently on Switch has released about 2-3 years ago, they would have sold double the copies. It is pretty clear that the hype around Switch is dying and Nintendo do need to get that next console out quickly or I fear they’re going to have severe negative momentum going into its launch.

    It also is an indicator that the Xenoblade Chronicles X port is sadly probably going to underperform what it deserves to as well.

  2. Ngl, I’m a bit disappointed by TTYD remake’s sales. I was really hoping it would outsell Origami King. Oh well. OK was ok, and if the next game is more in line with the original two games I’ll buy it. If not, then I won’t. No malice from me- I just hope for good games even those that I personally won’t play.
