The Game Awards is set to announce all nominations for this year’s event on Monday and there’s already been a lot of discussion about which games are going to be included in the various categories. The Game Awards website now says that that DLCs, expansion packs, remakes and remasters are all eligible for nomination in all categories, which is a very interesting turn of events. The Game Awards 2024 takes place on Thursday, 12th November.
The Game Awards aims to recognize the best creative and technical work each year, irrespective of the format of that content’s release. Expansion packs, new game seasons, DLCs, remakes and remasters are eligible in all categories, if the jury deems the new creative and technical work to be worthy of a nomination. Factors such as the newness of the content and its price/value should be taken into consideration.

I can understand remakes and/or remasters but how do they consider dlc as a stand alone title, when it’s additional content that goes with the base game. so, if the dlc for a game wins then i guess the game the dlc is for also wins.
Remasters – what? These are literally old games with a new coat of paint. The rest… maybe. I guess there wasn’t enough good new games this year for them to come up with nominees for all the categories. This isn’t a good thing, means that less mainstream games are less likely to be given a chance to shine.
So more awards for Elden ring then

The article states that the Game Awards will be on “Thursday, 12th November”. I believe that this should be “Thursday, 12th December”. Cheers!
TGA is a sham, they rigged the votes by pushing out Wukong cuz the game isn’t “diverse” while trying to push Dragon Age Flop Guard.
If DLC is allowed then Shadow of the Erdtree needs to be a contender.
