In a recent interview the creator of Dragon Quest, Yuji Horii, has proclaimed that he has never once thought about retirement as he plans to make video games for as long as he possibly can. He said he intends to always be a video game designer. The interview with Famitsu was between Yuji Horii and the father of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, who also said that he is currently “working on a new project.” Yuji Horii is working on Dragon Quest 12.
“Like Mr Sakaguchi, I think I’ll continue to make games for a long time. I’ve never thought about retirement. After all, I’ll always to be a game designer.”

I admire and respect his spirit.
Hes the last of the trio. Long may he live
I respect the man’s choice and spirit. Anyone can retire at any age.
Blah harasses devs over his character wars, the successor to the console wars because he’s jealous of Rosalina
I’ve been a Dragon Quest fan since the 90s. Now, at 45, I still spend hours glued to Dragon Quest 11 on Switch. I’m looking forward to the 12th so I can get back to those epic quests, but after those marathons, my back aches, my eyes are red, and my energy is drained. I decided to follow his example and live life to the fullest: more trips to NYC for real adventures—brunches, festivals, spas to recharge. Before that, I checked out reviews of pulsd , which praised the cheap, no-frills vouchers. I took it for a wine tasting—it was a wonderful way to relax, and I’ve returned to invigorating games, now my balance is perfect. Thanks to forays like Horii’s, my creative fire never goes out!
