Rumor: Switch 1 can be connected to Switch 2 for controller usage or screen for Switch 2 games

Nintendo, perhaps unintentionally, confirmed yesterday that the Switch 2 Joy-Con does have the C-button that had been very heavily rumored prior to the console’s reveal in January. There have been lots of questions, as well as even more rumors, about what this button actually does. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed the specifics yet, but as usual, rumors continue to fill in the void while we wait for the Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd.

The latest rumor on the C-button comes from eXtas1s, who mentioned earlier this year that Forza Horizon 5 is coming to the Switch 2. According to eXtas1s, their sources are saying that the C-button can be used to connect a Switch 1 to the Switch 2. The Switch 1 can then be used as a controller, or as a screen to play Switch 2 games. Of course, this probably doesn’t need to be repeated, but since this isn’t a direct confirmation from Nintendo, the best reaction to this for now is to keep an open mind on things and especially wait to see if Nintendo actually confirms the news next week.

  1. While it WOULD be a welcome addition, I will not get my hopes up for this in the slightest.
It sounds like a wish-list item from a young Nintendo-fan, more-so than a likely scenario to me.

    1. Sasori Obinna: The puppet master

Obinna friend told that you are the commander Quadraxsi, obinna feel sorry for calling you a *ag, am didn’t know at the time that you like men and thought it was an meme but at the smae time you have to admit that am always the bigger man.

  2. I don’t see the purpose nor the convience. Well, I suppose that it’s for those ‘few’. Anyway Switch is gonna stay, together with Switch 2.

  3. This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read. 🤦‍♂️ Switch 2 already has a screen, why would I ever want to use the inferior screen of the old Switch? Or the controllers (Joy-Con)? Also, why a dedicated, prominent button for this niche “feature”, which doesn’t make sense anyway?

  4. This would make total sense. The switch one would essentially become a remote console. It already streams, and a simple update would unlock that feature.

With that being said, I don’t see Nintendo keeping the Switch alive for that alone.
