US: Minecraft Movie now has best video gaming movie opening ever

A couple of days ago, A Minecraft Movie officially opened in theaters. To say that the movie has been popular this weekend would be an understatement. It has been making a lot of money in just its opening weekend alone. Now that the weekend is done, we’re finally able to see just how well it has done, and it is nothing short of impressive.

A Minecraft Movie has made $157,000,000 at the United States box office this weekend, as well as $301,000,000 worldwide. This means that the movie is now the best opening that a video game movie has ever been able to achieve in the United States. The previous record holder was none other than The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Of course, a sequel to the Mario movie has already been announced, so Nintendo has an opportunity to get the record back. However, it won’t be out until next year. So, for now, A Minecraft Movie will have the record.

    1. Hey shuhei kinda interested in how Gravity Rush (movie?) reception will be. Since I doubt your company interested in a new game on the series, maybe let bamco license it to Switch 2? wink

      1. if it means easy money for us, copying Nintendo is hard…i mean being different, being different, you haven’t read anything…

  1. I went to watch the movie and like the sonic films it was full of children and parents with a face of “please God kill me” unlike the super mario movie were it was whole families and mostly adults with a smile on their faces.

I enjoyed the minecraft not only because i think Jason Momoa is so handsome XP
