Famed video game leaker Nate The Hate was asked if he had anything to share about the next mainline Sonic the Hedgehog video game for consoles and he replied by asking the user if they liked Sonic Frontiers. It sounds as though the Sonic Team is either preparing Sonic Frontiers 2 or is naturally using the engine it created for Frontiers for a new mainline game. Reviewers seemed to be of the consensus at the time that Sonic Frontiers had a decent framework built up for the next game.

I think they will they normally announce a year ahead. I’m still hoping for Sonic Heroes remake they announced Shadow Generations the year of release so there’s a maybe.

6 years in between games is crazy it came out 2020 I remember right? You would think they would have it out for the anniversary. Better yet have better announcements sorry but Sonic anniversary announcements are lame always bad just merch and a YouTube animation that’s mid. No remakes, big announcement of a game, no anime, it’s just bad.
Only if the 4Kids cast returns the current voice cast I do not like. They need to remake Adventure 1 and 2 as well with that cast
Amy’s model was much better in the first game I don’t know what happened to the one in the second game.. also I thought her voice was fine in the first.
As a Sonic fan I’ll admit Sonic Frontiers could have been better. The open zone areas felt a little empty, the controls in Cyberspace were terrible (The dropdash is ASS in Cyberspace) and I’ve seen some people say Sonic sounds like “Fat Deku” What I can give it credit for is the music (but it’s a Sonic game 9/10 the music will be a banger) The game to me is a 6/10 at best. Problem is it sold well so they claim and it was received warmly unlike other games so they are sticking with it that’s what they normally do they did it with Unleashed and then worse with Colors. Frontiers I remember being sold for $20 after it released like a week or less than a week but no one calls that out. Honestly since they got a Japanese band to do Sonic music I was hoping for someone else like Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas to do music or Uverworld, coldrain for a Shadow game.
Geberations was ok but Sonic has not been good since the “dark era” millennials pretend was so bad it was better than Colors onward. The stories there interested you unlike now and the voice cast is like AI now funny given AI is better. The switch from 3D to 2D is just not it maybe one game but not every game and generic racing game copying Mario which makes no sense given Sonic and Shadow are fast, flying hover boards made more sense, Tails can fly but not fast also tricks on board. Imagine if we got open world Sonic Riders switch between running and boards to explore could be something over boring kart racer. Sonic needs that anime style again that 2000’s shonen vibe

Sonic Frontiers a bad Sonic Game but it wasn’t a Good One either in my opinion. I rather them go in the direction of Shadow Generations without the gimmicks.
Ian Flynn’s writing ruined both. I want Shadow Generations for Silver given it’s his 20th anniversary. Sega needs to properly fix Sonic but that won’t happen unless more things fail when that happens they’ll have to restructure and they only do that after 10 years of failure. Ian and Aaron need to be fired.
Fans need to bombard Sega online demanding a Silver project for his anniversary not even a full game like if they remake Sonic Heroes give him a expansion in the remake like Shadow had in Generation.

Bad writing by Ian and boring game overhyped by the flynnatics. He and Aaron are roadblocks with Sonic and Iizuka at this point needs to go too. Let CyberConnect2 remake Sonic Battle or make a sequel, remake Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, let RGG make a Sonic game or Adventure 3, Sonic Riders remake or new game, and Platinum make Shadow 2 and a Silver game.
Uh-oh. I didn’t really like Frontiers that much- I kind of felt bored with the gameplay loop by the time I got to the second island.
Yeah just avoid it Sega got full of themselves post Sonic movie then Frobtiers which it’s success is blown out of proportions it was on discount for $20 less than a week after release attributing to its sales. Next Sonic projects need to flop heard the racing game did.

Ian’s writing without editors is really bad post Archie that’s why it’s so bad no one telling him what to do he is lying again now saying he didn’t write Frobtiers only dialogue but he is now head of Sonic lore so he can’t try that same crap again. Shadow Generations story was bad too he does not get it. The comics people getting a hold of Sonic was the worst thing to happen.

He made shadow a rapist in a comic I heard, Sally Acorn gets shot, and of course Amy and Sonic are a couple I think she has cancer all in his weird fan fics some of which he reinterpreted into the main comics. The IDW stuff is awful too outright put lesbians in it with Tangle and Whisper then weird bad characters like Surge. He did it in Archie too in now deleted tweets confirmed it with Sally and Nicole because he hates the Sally character. Also lied about Sega mandating him not to do things with chwracters later proven to be a lie, he lied about not writing Sonic Frontiers claiming he only wrote dialogue because of the split response now he is head of lore so he can’t try that again and Shadow Generations story is awful too, the guy needed editors only time he was good was Archie, misconception he created Scourge no it was his editors who had the idea and direction which is why his warped version Surge is so bad. He was a writer on Sonic Boom and Prime I believe which is why the SonAmy thing is pushed and watch Sonic movie 4 be more of his trash. He ruined Silver too he and Evan making him a goof instead of Trunks from Dragon Ball Z or Shadow turning him into tin foil or a goof too instead of what he was a more serious character.
