Unreal Engine 6 revealed alongside Rocket League update

Epic Games has announced that Rocket League will be one of the first games to use the in-development Unreal Engine 6. The company posted a short teaser showing refined grass, cars and lighting utilising the new game engine. Unreal Engine 5 launched in 2022 and it is unclear when this new version of Unreal Engine will make its debut. You can check out the teaser footage in the video down below along with lots of cheering from the audience.

    1. Outside that game who is using UE4 for games at this point? Everyone is using or upgraded to 5 if they don’t already use another proprietary engine. Also FF7 part 3 was never going to be UE5 it was always planned to be UE4 because it would be easier.

  1. This should be a wake up call that studios are taking too long now their games are outdated. Many will be making UE5 games years into next gen struggling with UE6 like they did 5. Just shows they can release cross gen but won’t.
