Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 rated by the ESRB

A separate rating for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft has been spotted on the ESRB website. Although the Nintendo Switch version will work on the console, a dedicated Switch 2 version could bring with it many additional features and quality-of-life improvements that would make it a much better experience. With Summer Games Fest soon to kick off and rumours of a Nintendo Direct in June, we could be seeing the game arrive on the Switch 2 in the very near future.

Minecraft is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Fantasy Violence. Also includes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases. This is a sandbox adventure game in which players explore and mine/harvest cube-shaped materials. From a first-person perspective, players traverse pixilated open-world landscapes, avoid hazards, build structures, and craft potions and weapons (e.g., swords, axes, bows, magic staffs). Players are occasionally prompted to defend against enemies (e.g., zombies, skeletons, wizards/mages) by striking them repeatedly until they collapse. Players can also use weapons against animals and villagers, though these acts are not encouraged. Fighting is highlighted by short cries/grunts of pain, impact sounds, and occasional explosions.

  1. I Love Minecraft, maybe not as much post Caves and Cliffs but still, I’ve spent more hours than I can count on it. I think the Switch Version should have been pulled off of the eShop a long time ago. I bought the Physical copy and to this day, feel Microsoft should giver everyone a refund but wont. When you start a new world it can seem fine, but as soon as you start building houses, towns, farms, and loading in more chunks. The game can become literally unplayable and I mean unplayable. I had worlds on it where loading screens would appear whenever I opened a Chest or Door, and mobs would freeze and not move anymore, and chunks wouldnt load and much worse. I want to play Minecraft on my TV, have it on PC too but prefer on in the Television but Minecraft on the Original Switch ruined that and robbed me of $40. I’d like to get it on Switch 2 if on a physical cartridge though I don’t want to get burned again. Switch 1 Cartridges should get a free upgrade but probably wont.
