Respected online gaming publication Edge has awarded Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D a more than respectable 8/10. The magazine is notorious for its strict scoring policy, so an 8 is a great score for the game which has had a mixed critical reception since its E3 début. Will this persuade you to pick up a copy?

Seems pretty good to me, even though I don’t like shooters that much… especially on handhelds. *shudders* Even consoles are ill-suited, in my opinion, to shooters; PC is the way to go.
But Edge is very well known for having consistently harsh (so not on a couple genres or franchises) reviews, so an 8 is actually a great score. They use what people call “college grading”, where a 7 is considered a good game, an 8 is a great game, and a 9 is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. 10′s come about almost as frequently as new consoles do.
It’s a stealth game, not a shooter. You try to avoid the enemy not shoot them.
It’s not “college grading” it’s just fact. Five out of ten means it’s average. Most magazines (and fans, especially fanboys) seem to think a seven is average.

What I don’t understand is, when EDGE gave RES REVELATIONS a 7, everybody was saying how biased and stupid they were, but when EDGE gives a good review, all of a sudden they’re trustworthy again?

This is excellent news! I was worried about this game but I know it will be a day one buy for me now. Not too mention my circle pad pro will definitely benefit this game.
