Lovefilm Discontinues Game Rentals, Existing Customers Unaffected At Present

Amazon company Lovefilm has recently confirmed that they will no longer provide game rental service to new customers. In a decision to focus solely on bringing the best film and television content for its consumers, Lovefilm has discontinued their games rental service, which has been in effect since June 24. To clarify, however, the Amazon company said that their current customers who pay for a games rental subscription will be unaffected, but those who wish to change to a games package will no longer have the option available. It is currently unknown as to whether the service will also be phased out for existing customers on the games rental package. Here’s what Lovefilm had to say on their FAQ page:

We are no longer offering games rental packages to either new customers, or those who wish to change from a non-games package.

In order to give the best possible service that we can, we are looking to focus on our strength, which is providing the best selection of film and TV content for our customers, and making it available whenever and wherever you want it.
