Platinum Game designer Hideki Kamiya has said on Twitter that he hopes that the forthcoming The Wonderful 101 for Wii U will eventually get a sequel. Kamiya was asked by Twitter user ahmadchannel2 whether there’s a chance that The Wonderful 101 will receive a sequel, to which he replied, “I hope so”. Kamiya was featured on the site yesterday as he was concerned that The Wonderful 101′s marketing isn’t enough right now to drive sales.

For Europeans , we have Pikmin 3 in less than 3 weeks , and then W101 next month. And then all the others like Sonic , Windwaker , Donkey kong , Mario etc after that.

well thats dissapointing.Graphics in my opinion are very important,not enough to overshadow great gameplay.But for him to say go play something else goes against the grain and wont garner the support hes looking for.Im hopeful but we shall see…

Native 720p is great with AA , Especially at 60FPS!!! The difference between Native 1080p and 720p with say FXAA is negligible…

Absolutely!!!! A LOT of people’s minds are warped by figures , but not the minimal difference in the results.
720p 60FPS with AA upscaled to 1080p is a perfectly good level to be at. I would WAY WAY WAY WAY rather have that on any game than 1080p 30FPS.
The difference between 720p and 1080p is completely negligible compared to the huge difference between 30FPS and 60FPS!

It may be fun but with the drought of games.Youd have to hope this will be a big seller.Pushing the graphics can only help enhance the overall feel and polish of the game. While also helping people change their perceptions about the wiiu and help cement it as next gen.

Character design in TW101 isn’t as detailed as say, Bayonetta 2, so he’s most likely using that as his excuse to troll.

I don’t understand Nintendo. It’s like they didn’t plan the Wii U’s specs at all. They go into the next generation without the capabilities of 1080p and 60 fps? Sure, Mario Kart 8 will have it, but EVERY game should be able to do it, too.

The game was supposed to be in the launch window, and yet it’s coming out a good 9-10 months later. And excuse me if I want the best graphics for this game. If every game on the Wii U ran at 720p and 60fps only, wouldn’t you be a little upset?

People really have a distorted view of resolution and framerate.
Understand this. Say there was a multiplat game that had REAL LIFE graphics , or the graphics looked almost as good as reality. It wouldn’t matter much if it was 720p 30fps , 720p 60FPS , 1080p 30fps or 1080p 60fps….
Resolution and framerate =/= overall graphical fidelity.
The real life looking game at 720p 60FPS would look 100 times better than Say Ninja gaiden 3 running at 720p 60FPS.
But that’s not the point. I want the games I’m going to buy to be the best as they possibly can. If the Wii U’s hardware prevents that, then I’m entitled to be a little upset. And I think everyone would prefer a game that’s 1080p 60fps over the same game that’s 720p 60fps.
Well the ps4 , about 80% of its games so far are 1080p 60FPS. 1080p 60FPS uses up a LOT of processing power that the devs can use elsewhere and just drop to 720p 60FPS

The idea and the interest created is there, all it has to do is take off. If it shifts Wii U units (which would be a surprise), it’ll most likely get a sequel.

I just want this game to do EXTREMELY well. Imagine if this game sells over two million copies it’s first week. I know it’s not going to happen but I really want risks like this game to pay off. Hideki Kamiya is so cool too.
If it sells to 2 million in it’s first week, that’s over 1/2 of all Wii U owners with the game. If it makes 2 million by the end of 2014, that’d be great.

I think that depends on how committed Nintendo is to the Wii U, its Gamepad and if it will survive. Nintendo doesn’t seem committed to Wii motion control games, Nintendo was not committed to Wii in the last year of its life. Nintendo isn’t committed to improving motion controllers anymore, it seems, and I don’t know how committed Nintendo will be to its new Gamepad.
Ignoring Wii Party U displaying dice on the Gamepad and if you shake the GamePad, the Dice reacts to it. Also ignoring that Wii U only has TWo Nintendo games on sale. Ignoring the games unveiled at E3.
