It looks as though the Wii U version Rayman Legends is set to be the most expensive version available. The official Ubisoft store has the game priced up at £40 while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the same game are available for £25. Interestingly, the PlayStation Vita version is £30, but even that’s not as expensive as the Wii U version.

In SA the wiiU is the most expensive console priced at R4600 the ps3/360 goes for around R3500 and the vita for R2000 the rest of the consoles like psp/ds and 3ds/3Ds xl is marked between R1000-R2000 respectively.

the question is, why does the vita have a different price too, and why they did not just release if for the wii u when it was ready and add free updates to the game as they developed the others and then released them for this price to pick up those other sales. If they released it that way they would see a higher pull of profits.
Vita games usually have a lower price of 40$ vs PS3’s 60$ retail, which is similar to WiiU’s 60$ vs. 3DS’ 40$. At least that’s the way it is in NA. Regardless, it’s still a mystery as to why it’s higher on Vita.

That’s in bad faith. It’s bad enough they delayed the game up until now due to making it multiplatform (not that I have a problem with multiplat). Yes they can justify that giving the Wii U owners that free Challenges app was a good gesture but, I think £40 for the Wii U version is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

i’m pretty the main reason for this is that they have “dumbed” down the PS3/360 version coz it doesn’t have 2nd screen support for the game. if you saw the QTE-esque approach they made for implementing Murphy, then you’ll know what i mean. also if i remember correctly, the Wii U version may get more content or something.

Nice for you that in Australia the prices are same for the different consoles. But here in Europe there is a definetly a price difference. The webshop where I usually buy has the PC version for €29, the xbox360/PS3 for €38 and the WiiU version for €45, and I’ve seen similar prices in other european webshops…

Oddly enough, when I was in England, the Wii U games in general were more expensive whereas here in Australia, Wii U games seem to be cheaper than not only PS3 and X360 but also Wii games. Of course, that’s depending on the shop.

I got my copy of Rayman Legends for Wii U pre-ordered at the price of £30.50 on Amazon UK with the pre order price guarantee, But even without that on Amazon it’s only £34 for WiiU at the moment, compared to Xbox 360 at £32, PS3 at £40 and PSVita at £30.
