NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon has told fans on Twitter that he still really wants to create a Mortal Kombat Vs Street Fighter game. Boon has reached out to Capcom to see whether they would be interested, but they haven’t issued him with a reply.  Boon says that Mortal Kombat Vs Street Fighter would be one of his dream crossover games. Would you like to see the Injustice and Mortal Kombat team tackle such a title?

    1. Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat would be a dream come true. The DLC could be Injustice Batman, (Netherrealm) Mega Man, (Capcom) etc. The possibilities are infinite. I hope this turns out to be a thing, and that its for Wii U

      1. And BTW, the Dragon’s right, it would need to be a sort of mix between the graphics. Would it be dark and gory like MKX? Or would it be non-gory and cartoonish like SF4?

  1. That would awesome.
    The problem is Capcom.
They’d just want to make it play exactly like Street Fighter, which is stupid, it’s exactly what they did with SF X Tekken.
It would need to feel like a mix of the 2, which Injustice kind of does feel like.

    1. Thats its not true its play like Sf because is the game BY SF TEAM=CAPCOM there is going to be a tekkenxsf which is being develop by namco and is going to be played as a tekken so shut the fuck off retard

  2. I would love to see a fighting game a bit like latest naruto was on ps3, not so much “2d” fighting style. and with more customization. i never get why those most of shallow fighting games are so popular ?

    1. You call SF shallow then have the nerve to say Naruto is better? Yeah, a button masher over an actual intricate game with a rather large learning curve. I rather play Dragon Ball Z Kinect.

  3. hell yeah, but the game needs some serious balancing before it’s made public. also I prefer if the fighting mechanics sticks with sf style and not mk.

  4. YES I WOULD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or a ultimate fighting game crossover with multiple famous titles including the 2 above; Tekken, DOA, Killer Instinct & Gulity Gear! :-)

    1. Uhhhhhh yes, that would be awesome. I’m still waiting for a Platinum X Grasshopper fighting game. Travis Touchdown vs Bayonetta, Raiden vs Mondo, it would be the sickest xD

  5. And ruin the little respect I have left for SF? No thanks! Sure, Mortal Kombat 9 was good, but it wasn’t a hell of a game, and let’s not talk about Injustice… I don’t want to see the same character model reskined as each SF character and with the same 2 punches and 2 kicks…

    1. Mortal Kombat 9 (if thats the one that came out for PS3 and 360 about 2 years ago) was the best mortal kombat since mortal kombat trilogy. No questions asked. Everything after trilogy sucked. Mortal Kombat in 3D is a no no.

      1. He claims time and again that he is the “elder” here and been playing Nintendo since Game & Watch yet he has money troubles and can’t afford his games. HA. Cheap excuse of a commander lol. I’m 29 and I have all the Wii U games worth getting and will be getting the upcoming ones, and I pay rent and bills and such and don’t live with my parents or get any help. I think maybe it’s time a more reasonable and better off financially (and mentally) member rise to the Commander Status. How can you sit here and claim to be the commander and give your opinions if you can’t even afford the games to play and give a valid opinion?

        1. Hmm. Although overall a bit harsh, you do have a point about him not really giving valid points since he doesn’t actually own a Wii U, and as such, can’t really talk from experience. But he is a fan nonetheless, so there’s that.

  6. Nintendo, Your lack of action has made your more die hard fans apathetic and depressed, shame on you.

Been nice with third party companies is way different to let them slap their… half assed support in your face.

  7. Didn’t the creator of Street Fighter said Mortal Kombat was way too violent to have a cross over with Street Fighter? What a wimp. I really hate Street Fighter but it would be amazing to rip some of the Street Fighters heads off with Scorpion >:)

    1. No. It was because the two games wouldn’t fit together at all. One is all about sportsmanship while the other is about gratuitious violence. Nothing to do with ”being a wimp”.

I agree with Ono (who’s not the creator of the series, but revived it with SF4); Seeing Chun-Li flat out kill her opponent after having already won would make zero sense.

      1. Mortal Kombat is not about gratuitous violence… Yes brutality is party of the game, it was edgy on the snes. Sportsmanship really? Sure I’ve seen some good games in the evo tournaments but to say the game is based on sportsmanship is bogus. I’ve seen fights that were just as good and better than sf tournament fights in MK. If making a huge comeback and then rubbing your opponents face in it is unsportsmanlike then you can keep your slow paced sportsmanship based fighting game.

        1. I was talking about the in-game content.
The characters of Street Fighter are, for the most part, fighting out of sportsmanship, to test their strenghts against other fighters, which isn’t something I could say about MK.

Also lol at you implying that Mortal Kombat is fast paced.

          1. Last I checked the “in-game content” of MK is based on a fighting tournament to decide the fate of earth realm (or where ever the curent tournament is being held.) It just so happens the fights are to the death. I would say defending your home world is a bit more important than “a test of strength.”

Lol at you for making assumptions. All I said was that sf was slow but, so are most fighters for some dumb ass reason; several MK titles included.

            1. The way you said ”enjoy your slow fighter”, after praising Mortal Kombat, heavily implied you found MK to be at least faster than SF, which is objectively false.
Just so you know, you were the first to make assumptions; I don’t even play SF that much anymore (I’m more of a Blazblue/Persona guy, in the unlikely case you’re wondering). I just wanted to clear things out and mention that Ono was uninterested a Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat because he believes ”fights to the death” aren’t befitting to the universe of Street Fighter.

  8. Well, seeing as how Mortal Kombat was inspired by Street Fighter, of course he would say this.

And I’d like to see it happen, but I don’t really think Capcom would go through with it.

  9. If it was like INJUSTICE then HELLLLLL NNOOOOOO
Worst fighting game i have almost ever played (at least with so much undeserved hype)
Latest MK was good… but I still thinking fighting games regressed in terms of innovation when there is still a lot of room to grow… more free movement for one

    1. Play a Naruto fighter or one of the free motion DBZ’s and it will kill that idea for you. You can either have a good combo system or free motion, they have proven that serveral times.

  10. Pingback: Nintenderos.com – Wii U, Wii y Nintendo 3DS | Ed Boon quiere ver un Mortal Kombat Vs Street Fighter

  11. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe didn’t work well. Mortal Kombat without blood? MK + SF would also be without blood. MK vs Killer Instinct is the only crossover that would work.
Don’t expect this game to be released on Wii U. Be surprised if it does. ;)

    1. PSU(Playstations+WiiU)

What the fuck are talking bout Injustice isn’t all that gory but it’s still a kick ass games….who’s to say that Mk Vs SF wouldn’t have blood in it….lol you never know the creator’s might get a lil twisted with this game and I can already see a plot of Shao Khan and M.Bison working together that shit would be so Boss like…..The day they make this game It’s no9 question ask Im buying the Ultimate Editon the 1st day

  12. That would be cool…..if it werent involving MOrtal Kombat -_- Leave MK alone for petes sake! you guys ruin it enough with DC vs MK.

  13. With all of the crossovers (some very odd) that the Street FIghter games have had, I’m very surprised that there hasn’t been a Street Fighter Vs Mortal Kombat yet. Except, it would look a little weird with super cartoony Street Fighter characters mixed with the more digitized Mortal Kombat fighters. Although they’re not quite as digitized as they were in the first Mortal Kombat.

With all that said, this would interest me more than ANY other Street Fighter Vs game that exists. Because Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat will always be my 2 favorite fighting games of yesteryear.

  14. Sooo he wants to make a game where there are a bunch of brutal martial arts champions/cyborgs/ninjas/warlocks/gods and pit them against manlegs/marines/spainiards/1mutant/badanimecharacterripoffs. Sure and lets make starcraft3 online only where Koreans are always put up against American players. Sounds fair right? Right? Right???

  15. No if ed boon does a video game with capcom, then capcom would want to do it in 2d and I believe fans have not gotten enough of injustice god among us. So why not expand the series adding many new characters I wanted to see batman vs spawn since spawn defeats batman in the comics or batman aligns with spawn to take down enemies. Or why not see dc vs marvels now that would be what comics fans would like to see Hulk vs superman in a battle. If I was ed boons I would give the fans dc vs marvels now that would make a huge sale.
