Nintendo has announced via a SpotPass message that Nintendo Video is set to be removed from the eShop. The video service will no longer be available for download after March 31st. Nintendo says that it’s best if users delete Nintendo Video from their systems to free up space.

this is sad…….IT WAS SUCH A GREAT FEATURE! wathc FREE stuff in 3d. some were promotional but that’s awesome.

Someone must have uploaded them to youtube, I’m not sure but if you really liked them then it’s worth checking out.
This app will be like flappy bird when it was permanently taken off the app store. And The notification says to delete the Nvid App but i wont cuz it will be gold…lol i still have that green lantern 3d trailer app…. It may not be as rare as ppl having lame Flappy Bird on their phones but you get the picture.
no need for it since there starting to put episodes and shorts on the eshop. but i did use and liked the different content on nintendo video

The only good thing that came out of it was the short Kid Icarus anime.episodes.
I must have used it 3 times at the most. It felt like a waste of battery juice I could be burning on a game, so it won’t be missed. If I want to watch a video, there’s always YouTube on my phone anyways…
Sad, I hope they make something to replace it, and bring it to both systems, it would be cool if they did more animation and art pieces based on Nintendo IP.

the app is a joke and trash. some videos in 2012 were cool but now adays they suck even more than smosh.
Just clear it up, it’s for Europe only. North America will still keep on getting the videos delivered.

It is a was good app at the start, but I didn’t see much use for it. I do hope for Flipnote Studio 3D soon.
Removed swapnote. Wii WiFi. Wii post coins. Nintendo video. What’s next nintendo come on nintendo video would be great for advertising wiiu commercials and trailers.
Nintendo seems to get rid of all the free stuff. First Swapnote, so far we never got the Flipnote for 3DS in the US yet (but some of it was already made unfunctional by Nintendo in Japan, and now Nintendo Video.

I removed it 5 month later it was launched.Used too much space and there was barely anything interesting.
it doesn’t use much space……about 100-200 blcoks for me I cant remember. out of like…….8K u can have? yeah…..too much.

If Nintendo do not want to support it they could just let support fade away. Better put all existing clips up for downloading, the original 3D file is “useless” on other videoplayers.
It is after all the last remnants of the revolutionary glasses-free 3D screen. Soon even the games will not be 3D.
Better yet let us make our own 3D movies, Nintendo could easily monitor if there are and genitalia there.

I actually used it a lot but deleted it to make room for pokebank. I know I can transfer to a bigger card but I’m idk if everthing will transfer over, like the ambassador thing for example.
Everything does transfer over. You can do it 2 ways.
A) Upgrade to XL using full system transfer
B) Upgrade SD card. All you have to do is plug the card into a PC (with an SD card slot or adapter), and copy all folders locally, then paste them onto the new card.
I’ve done both and I’m an ambassador with all the games :)
Does the ambassador certificate go too? Not the free games, I’m talking about the little voucher that they gave out.
I’ve transferred all my info from my original 3DS to an XL and again to the gold Zelda XL,and I still have my certificate so you should keep yours.
Yes it does – anything you had prior goes (including the limited release of 4 Swords Anniversary). All software, icons, everything.
(By the way you don’t need the certificate anymore…)

Well you can watch episodes of Pokemon and Inazuma Eleven on the eShop, so they could always use the eShop directly as a means of video distribution.
They should make something similar, only better. They should also name it YouTube.

I didnt care for this feature but this isnt the 1st feature Nintendo gets rid off, i dont get it. Others add features and Nintendo ditches features for some reason and no im not fanboy, i love all 3 console makers just statin my opinion

Awww Crap! I always looked forward to the newest videos coming out. I predominately use my 3DS for games, but I enjoy all the non-gaming features, too, and use them on a daily basis.
It used to have some good videos for while. If they did more stuff like they did with the Kid Icarus cartoons it would have been a legitimately good app.

Watched like two videos and was absolutely over it. Too many notifications from SpotPass for it. The videos were really boring and they ended up putting a lot of them on there numerous times. This is the second service they’ve discontinued for 3DS, really doesn’t look good for the system, especially SwapNote, the systems only real way of communicating with other systems outside of games.

Some of the videos were good, but most were poor & there wasn’t enough of them anyway.
All the ones on the eShop are rubbish & you have to pay for them !
The argument from most posters seems to be something like:
“I have never used mascara so I think it should not be sold at all”.
It was an OK app at most. I wish they put ACTUAL nintendo videos in there though. Like trailers, gameplay, directs, announcements, hell. even an E3 segment.

Nintendo Video is still running in America and just yesterday brought the 1st of a 26 episode WWE cartoon series.
Strange that I didn’t get this notification. I’m in America so maybe this is just in other countries. I’m assuming that it’s not for America since the photo shows the dates that are not the way America does it. MM/DD/YY
