This week’s Media Create sales are now in from Japan. The only new 3DS software to enter the charts is Crayon Shin-chan, which sells just over 16,000 copies and debuts in fifth place. Though the latest Mario Party title and Yokai Watch continue to sell well, figures are still erring on the side of caution following the dominance of the mobile market. 3rd Robot Wars Z for PlayStation 3 is Japan’s chart-topper, but EA’s Titanfall comes in 9th place, selling just over 10k.
The Nintendo 3DS and Wii U suffer a blow in the hardware charts this week, with sales of the PlayStation Vita topping the combined sales of the 3DS by a mere 2k. Sales for the Wii U are also at its lowest in a number of weeks, where it’s been roughly averaging between 7 and 10k. Here’s the top 20 software and hardware charts.

If understood why japan doesn’t buy consoles, it because of tight spacing, they are always moving(bussiness) waiting around ect. Console sales, have been on the decline in japan, since the ps2

with these numbers i half expect them to go back on their announcement and never release it there.. i mean look at the x360 sales.. and that was at a time when stationary consoles still sold like hot cake over there

Whats the point in getting a ps4 and one right now when a ps3 and 360? Those same experiences are on those system right now, and still offer a better experience then the new gen. The wii online support is going out so, a wii wouldn’t offer the same experience as a wii u at this point. I don’t have any prob with nintendo network, because its just nintendo’s online service, online on the wii u isn’t bad I find it better then ps3 and some times more stable. E shop is not the nintendo network. But hey if u find the system kiddy get rid of it, no forcing u to have it, if ur not buying really any games for it whats the point in having it

vita is at 8 million and the 3ds is over 43 million after nearly three, the vita is having a lower chance of revival then the wii u. years, but who cares if another console out sells another there not a prize for kissing a companies feet for 5-6 years. The 3ds really has not sold that much in japan compared to other hanhelds. The gameboy sold like 30 million, gba 17 million(which was replaced by the ds after 3 years) and ds about 35 million. The 3ds has only sold about 15 million there so for sells to be lagging is quite bad.
mkay a couple of points
1. the world is going into the hole, the economy all around the world is bad and considering that the 3DS sells approx 30k-+ units a week over the course of 3 years is pretty damn impressive
2. the Game Boy was a new thing at the time, it didn’t have competition from Sony or tablets or Smartphones, therefore you can’t compare something that was a revolution at the time to something that has become so common today
3. the 3DS been has only been around for 3 years and in that time the combined worldwide sales of the 2DS,3DS and 3DS XL is 43.3 million
the combined worldwide sales of the Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy light and GameBoy pocket is 118 million in a span of 25 years
the 3DS managed to sell a a third of what the GameBoy sold in less than a fifth of the time and you say that isn’t impressive?

Yes it came out in 1989 so it’s 25 years old but the Game boy (including pocket color and light) was replaced with the gba in 2001 and has been discontinued since. So it was on the market for 12 years.
no that is not how it works it’s been out for 25 years case and point, just because it is no longer in production doesn’t mean there are not units still out there somewhere, the GBA was a completely new console entirely it did not replace the Game Boy just like how the PS3 did not replace the PS2 so that is not a valid point
