Nintendo has rolled out a new Miiverse update today and Marty is on hand to divulge the details in the community forum. For those who often access Miiverse on the go from smartphones or the internet, you’ll be pleased to hear there’s now an option to access posts only from verified users. To enable the feature just select “posts from verified users” icon at the top of the community screen and an update will never pass you by again.
The second feature, as Marty explains, is an update to the community search function, allowing you to search for communities by software title. It will affect all versions of Miiverse and, subsequently, means users can no longer post numerous comments in a short space of time on someone else’s post.
According to the update, Miiverse users will have to wait for up to three minutes before being able to post again. However, this only affects other people’s posts, since you can post as many times as you like on your own. Of course, the update will be put to great use in terms of moderation, but it may break up the conversational flow for other users. What do you think to the new update? alot of people dont like the 3 minute wait. i can see that but nintendo probably put that there so the servers wouldnt be overflowed with activity and crash.
I can understand it for posts, as it would be too easy to spam otherwise. But on comments? My comments are normally MUCH longer than what can be sent at once…
Nintendo, stop being a bad with this. You’re getting more things wrong with Miiverse than you are getting things right. I’ve posted a few answers to peoples’ questions that took more than one post and now this makes an unnecessary gap between parts which could lead to confusion.
Honestly, Miiverse lost most of its socializing features that made it great when it first came out when they took out the ability to get a notification when another commenter commented.
Since then, Miiverse has just been growing downhill.
While that hasn’t ruined very much for my part (I normally talk with the OP or with people on my own posts, and then both get notifications), I agree that there should be some sort of “follow this post” option!
That started happening because of an update? I thought it was just a glitch on my system. Well, that’s ANOTHER bad move on Ninty’s part.

Yes but if they are going to remove more and more features from everything, then they could just aswell not have created any of it to begin with and focus the resources on more games instead…

Also, Miiverse is on fire right now. It’s pretty ugly. Everyone is rioting, and I joined them. It’s a bad day to be a Miiverse admin.

Oh grow up… this honesty is needed because of how many kids annoy the crap out of each other. Then fights start. Least this allows mods to view how far a fight is going before it gets out ofhand…

This isn’t need amongst my Miiverse friends and in fact is a large stake in the heart. I’m losing my love for Nintendo with each bone head decision like this. Hopefully their magical programmers can once again save them from their inept management.

At first I read and hated this but after about 5 minutes I quickly remembered how in the Smash community people spam posts talking about My Little Pony, Power Puff Girls and gender bending. Maybe the weird off topic spam will be controlled a little better now, although genuine conversation might take a small hit too. Then again it says UP TO three minutes, so maybe they’ll adjust it case by case…

Just when I thought that Miiverse had a lot of potential to improve and become more forum-like, they go and do this. I didn’t think it was possible for Miiverse to constantly regress, but Nintendo has proven me wrong.

Nintendo is one big-ass glitch right now. I swear they must get-off on enraging what fans they have left.
That’s it, i’m done. MK8 is worth all this BS, Nintendo has been screwing us far to much now, This update isn’t the reason, it’s the fact that throughout the Wii U lifetime i know Nintendo will do more BS.
It seems like nintendo is doing everything in their power to keep us from taking them seriously.

Well, Miiverse, Maybe we all aren’t 3 year olds who have trouble reading a 200 character message.
I ‘hope’ the stockholder meeting will change this foolish practice and bring back the Swapnote!
