Eiji Aonuma has told Nintendo fans on Miiverse that The Legend of Zelda Wii U will be playable at next year’s E3 event. The information shouldn’t come as too big a surprise as the title is slated for a 2015 release. The information was posted in Japanese, but Aonuma neglected to mention it in the English translation. Here’s what he roughly said via Google Translate.
“Because I think the E3 of next year, would like to be able to play in practice, please stay tuned.”

Mario Kart and Smash Bros. are their prominent sellers, So is Mario. Zelda is always the long legs seller, the back up so to say.

Nintendo’s best selling title ever: Wii Sports. 80+ million copies.

Ahm, Zelda barely makes a third of what Mario often does, the Wii got a shit start with Twilight Princess despite it being fantastic game, then came Super Mario Galaxy.
I remember when Skyward Sword was promised to be released in 2010 but instead it got late 2011 release, so it is safe to say we will get the Zelda WiiU in 2016 or atleast late 2015.

None of this is related to what’s being done. They are going to work on the product the same amount of time, either way. So, like any person with a half a brain, they know Nintendo could have started working on this title years ago, and had it ready this year, not 3 years after their console, which is failing based on sales, is released.

Right – but Uncharted is coming out 1 year after the console is released, not 3 years like this entry in the Zelda series. Nintendo has the business sense of a rock. They don’t get it, thus why the Wii U isn’t selling, and I’m just sitting here, waiting for them to make one game.

No, they get it. But you act like making a game is a simple snap of the fingers, and that Nintendo just refuses to snap their fingers enough. Doesn’t work like that. They had Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds in development, and only after Skyward Sword were they even able to start SOMEWHAT working on this Wii U title. A Link Between Worlds was released last year, so NOW their main focus is the Wii U game.
They had certain games available for Wii U at launch (like New Super Mario Bros. U), and other games like Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 slipped because they needed more time.
Making the best game possible isn’t “having the business sense of a rock.” Obviously if the games were perfected in time, they’d release them. But you don’t just release a game at the snap of the fingers. That’s just ignorance beyond belief.

The little action sequence with the bow at the end was probably so, but Aonouma himself confirmed it was gameplay.
Not CGI, not pre-rendered, not fabricated. Everything was in-engine, including the cutscene. This isn’t EA. This isn’t Sega. This isn’t Ubisoft. This isn’t whoever else does stuff like this to show off a game. This is Nintendo. They don’t rely on pretty CGI or pre-rendered scenes to show off their 1st party titles like Zelda.

I’m not really surprised. It sucks but I don’t mind the wait. There’s plenty of other games that will keep me preoccupied from now til next year’s E3.

a year is nothing. there is so much media and games coming out to pass the time i barely have the time for anything else! watching atleast 10 series at the same time. anime series and movies as well. some games on nintendo and on pc( no i’m not pc master race as they call themselves.) i enjoy any kind of game. probably gonna shock some of you but i enjoy a game from ea before they became what they are now and it’s called Spore! barely any games i want on the pc anyways :/ anyways you gotta multitask on entertainment specially now for the sony players and microsoft players :/ i feel bad for them not because of the console but they barely get the games they want and they wanted it to be perfect 1080 60fps. i held off on buying the ps4 because i knew there would be an empty wait for games to come on it and i hate microsoft xbox for another reason ( because i had 4 xbox 360s and they all broke within 1 year of usage. i played on them barely 4-5 hours a day and then i could not cancle the gold membership and they did not want to return my cash so i ended it there) some good games tho because you should never hate on the games unless they are badly made! and never a console unless they also are badly made ( not talking about graphics and stuff like that.. just a badly half broken machine) sorry about that i went off topic but yeah there is so much going on that you have barely enough time to realise how much time is left untill the game comes out! don’t even bother searching for new info untill new info is released (for those who follow close) sorry for the off topic stuff. i missed so much talking here i just wanted to say what i think of all this :S

That was a Wii U tech demo, not a teaser for Zelda on Wii U. Sorry if you thought it was a teaser. If you’ve been a fan of Zelda since it’s inception, you would know they rarely use the same artstyle/graphics for console Zelda games. And a ton of people actually like alternate outfits that are based on Nintendo characters. Sorry if it doesn’t interest you. Now go play Twilight Princess if you want realistic graphics for a Legend of Zelda game.

hum I would not discard early release next year cause if you think about it. Playable could also mean it will be release before and be playable at the next E3 (will be weird and unlikely but why not).
I doubt that. A mid-year release is more plausible if it’s going to be playable at E3. Then again, this could easily just be a lie to surprise people with an early release. We won’t really know til it happens.
