  1. Mario Party 10 has really fun mini-games, but the gameplay is still as generic and boring as hell, much like Mario Party 9 felt to me.

It’s a pity. I wouldn’t mind the car being a side-attraction of the game, but as a main factor? *shivers*

I think one of the main reasons I liked all Mario Party games up to Mario Party 8 was because it felt sort of like Monopoly with an added level of unpredictability. It felt really solid and as if they knew exactly what they were doing in MP6 with the Orb mechanic. But it all started to fall apart in MP8 again.

I don’t agree Mario Party should be online, though. It’s a game you have to see others and their reactions, and the Wii U is not capable of doing that considerably well. But the mini-games are still fun and Amiibo party plays much like the original. Bowser party is also a pretty welcome addition…but the car in Classic is not a “classic” part of the series AT ALL.

    1. I 100% agree with you. They can keep the kart mode as a side thing (it’s perfect for bowser party) but they need to bring back what made the series awesome and that’s being able to choose your path instead of

    2. Being stuck in a kart, and finally someone who is fine with no online. Playing mario party online would take way too long and lag horribly. And if someone left the game would suck. And if they made online mini-games lag would ruin those to!

    3. If you like Monopoly with all the money mechanics I highly advise you to get Fortune Street on the Wii. It’s like a Mario x Dragon Quest Monopoly, but with MUCH harder elements and mechanics. The game is actually hard, (with A or S level players of course) has a tour (story) mode, multiplayer, and really requires you to think. I pulled it out not too long ago and had a head-scratching blast. You do have to play as your mii, but you can deck them out in different clothing and stuff. :)
