Here’s Amazon’s Strategy For Selling The Fourth Wave Of Amiibo Tomorrow

As I’m sure the majority of you are aware you will be able to purchase the fourth wave of amiibo tomorrow. However, with all amiibo launches you know that they are going to be rather tricky to get hold of. US retailer Amazon has explained their process for people wanting to get hold of the fourth wave and it’s not pretty. It’s good that it’s only one amiibo per customer though.

“Thank you for your interest in ordering the new amiibo figures from Amazon.com!” the official page states. “Quantities of the new characters are extremely limited, so we’d like to ensure that as many customers as possible have the opportunity to get the new figures!”

“Throughout the afternoon of Friday, May 29, we’ll be posting each Wave 4 amiibo figure individually within the following time windows. Each will become available for purchase at a random time during that time frame. Mark your calendars for the following times tomorrow!”

  • Pac-Man: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. PT
  • Charizard: 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. PT
  • Inkling Boy: 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. PT
  • Lucina: 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT
  • Wario: 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT
  • Inkling Girl: 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT
  • Silver Mario: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. PT
  • Robin: 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT
  • Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid 3-pack: 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. PT

“We’re limiting each amiibo figure to 1 per customer, and we’ll be disabling 1-Click Ordering,” Amazon said. “Additionally, it’d be helpful to make sure you’ve updated your credit card and shipping information to help you move quickly through the checkout process.”

      1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Hopefully they are prepared for this. Least they damn well better be since they announced this yesterday as their plan for amiibo. Unlike Gamestop who did not plan for the load on the servers even though they knew to be fully prepared.

    1. I agree I don’t really like that my Nintendo news or sickr for posting this either, now there will be a lot more people who know about this and will be going to be there to get the amiibos on Amazon. Now it will be a little more harder to get them if more people know about this.

      1. This is all over every amiibo info outlet, and Amazon emailed it to everyone who asked to be informed of the release. Everyone already knows. Blame Nintendo for lack of stock. :/

        1. Finally. Aomeone blaming the teal problem. Nintendo is doing this to make the amiibo appear more end demand. But when one store gets 2, of course it goes out of stock. Then they get hype talk about it and the forces more people to purchase on release.

Its all marketing. You creat your own supply and demand. Nintendo is not stupid. Dump ttany and shelfs fill up consumers think they r not moving and atop buying them.

      2. I’m pretty sure everyone who wants to collect them all already knew bout this. I’m still not buying these even though I now kmow about it

    1. I think its just a faster way of getting to the “first” perk people get when they post that they were first. Hell at least I mix it up a little, completely toss people off the trail. What he does is just no fun. ..

    2. Because his IQ is dramatically low(most likely lowest of all living creatures, including bacteria) so he can only type lazy comments.

    1. Okay! You don’t need to let the world know that you don’t pre-order from Amazon. You hipster dipshit chicken shit cunt.

  1. This is pretty terrible. After the bullshit that was Gamestop’s handling of the amiibo online orders, I don’t see this going well either. Probably won’t be buying any of these, besides the one Inkling girl I managed to pre-order.

Nintendo, you NEED to fix your stock issues.

    1. Nintendo doeant want to. They r doing this on purpose. Creating a hype and demand on launch day. Generating hype sales because everyone is afraid they will sell out so u get more people on launch day.

Then company can report how successful amiibos r.

Its all marketing. Nintendo cant afford another flip like the wiiu right now.

They will not increase production for some time.

  2. I have a Brand New Gold Mario im thinking of trading. If only I could get something cool. Like a Mint Edition Cool Porygon card!

    I happen to love Porygon.

      1. Oh good call man. Actually Im already going to buy the card ok n ebay for 5$ flat. Im into trading people things and helping them if I can. That said, if there are any Amiibo’s someone wants but cant find I’d be glad to help you get one. I can get several different ones, not charizard or the new 4th wave. But mario, luigi, princess, yoshi, bowser, zelda, kirby, pikachu, donkey kong, sonic, I think shiek is still available, Diddy kong, and I think there was a couple toon link left. Any of these, I could buy them, then sell again to whomever for the actual price give or take 3 bucks, give or take postage mailing whatever. But I wouldn’t dare ask someone to pay 40 flipping bucks for a pikachu on ebay. I checked this recently, its absurd some of the prices. But yah majority of the ones I listed I can get, with exception of GameStop due to being closed atm. :)
Jus something I thought id share!

Peace and Play CONTINUUM! ITS FREE AND AMAZAFUDGE. find it on steam or its website. (SHEEPLE)

        1. Yoshi seems to be sticking to 9.98$ so I guess they’re having issue’s with him breaking maybe? Idk. He does look “loose” or something.

  3. I know a lot of people are mad about this getting posted, but I’m grateful. If I don’t get Lucina in the morning I’ll try my luck at night.

  4. Having each one be released for purchase at different times also means that you’ll have to buy other items when you check out if you want free shipping if you aren’t a Prime member. Bah.

  5. Selling amiibos shouldn’t have to require a strategy. If Nintendo supplied enough to meet the demand, none of this crap would be happening.

  6. I wish I could invent something completely useless that every man and his dog would fight for and look back in 10 years and say “What the f*** was I thinking”.

  7. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

*twitch* I stayed on for 3 extra hours just so I could get Lucina & it sold out in less than a minute! Typical of Nintendo! They have a great idea & what do they do? FUCK IT RIGHT UP by only sending out a small number of the more rare amiibo. Next time, Nintendo, get Disney to make the amiibo for you because least they won’t fuck people over by sending out a small amount to give the illusion of them being highly popular! Thanks a lot! I’m glad Japan is getting a good amount of stock. -.-

    1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Good luck. Like Lucina, Robin will probably sell out in less than a minute too. Not to mention it takes a few minutes before you can actually see them up for sale.

      1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

And I spent a good 5-10 minutes constantly refreshing on Amazon at the time she was supposed to be available

    1. ha – I didn’t even see it available. Looks like the number of Amiibo in my collection shall continue to remain at 0 for the foreseeable future.

      1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

I had that same issue with Lucina. The bitch never even popped up for sale at $12.99 from Amazon. -.-

  8. Even tough nobody will probably EVER read this, I’m SO happy to announce that I actually found every wave 4 amiibo (except Greninja) in stores today. Even Ness. I couldn’t believe it when I walked into Gamestop and saw a Ness amiibo. Two actually. My sister and I bought them both. Also got the silver Mario and the Splatoon 3-pack. It was a sweet amiibo day. : D

    1. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Maybe I’ll get lucky & come across Lucina at the Gamestop closest to me. *snickers* Doubtful, though.
