Yacht Club Games Says “Our Goal Is To Completely Finish Shovel Knight In 2016”

Shovel Knight fans might be pleased to learn that Yacht Club Games intents to completely finish Shovel Knight in 2016. Ian Flood explained that there’s still plenty of content to get finished and wrapped up including the Specter Knight campaign, King Knight campaign, Battle Mode on consoles, and Gender Swap. Once these things are done it seems likely that they will then move onto their next project

“So the things we still have lined up – Specter Knight campaign, King Knight campaign, Battle Mode on consoles, and Gender Swap. Those are the stretch goal unlocks we’re still working on. That’s fine that some backers are okay and moving on, not keeping a hot eye on it, but there are people still following it closely.”

“I’d say our goal is to completely finish Shovel Knight in 2016! That’s what we’re hoping to do.” Yacht Club’s David D’Angelo added, “That’s the weirdest thing with the Kickstarter updates, just working on one thing for so long. The idea of starting something fresh after 2016 is almost crazy to us at this point.”

  1. In all honesty, I didn’t like playing as Plauge Knight. its not that it was bad DLC, I just got so used to playing with Shovel Knight, that the way Plague Knight plays threw me off so much I instantly lost interest.

  2. I figured they’d probably be done this year. Hyped as hell for both the King and Specter Knight campaigns, the genderswap mode will certainly be an interesting addition as well. The amiibo content will keep me pretty content until all that jazz is finally released :D

  3. Sweating the deal never hurts. I really need to start that game again, I managed to find a Advance Wars days of ruin cartridge today. So I’m hella stoked to start it!

    1. Oh man, I loved AW Days of Ruin… Great turn based strategy and easily my favorite Advanced Wars. Have fun!
