Rumour: Star Fox Zero Delayed To Summer 2016?

A couple of members of the NeoGAF forums have noticed that a number of French retailers are listing Star Fox Zero with a summer release date rather than the April 2016 release date Nintendo previously announced. It was initially clear that the game needed some polish so it wasn’t too surprising that Nintendo and Platinum Games decided to delay it until April. A summer release date could make sense, but we shall have to wait and see!

  1. The only way I would be happy with another delay was if it was for online multiplayer, or brand new planets. Other than that I think the graphics and single player gameplay are good enough that it doesn’t need another delay.

  2. Wait, isn’t Summer that time of the year where there’s always a drought in games and Nintendo has never taken advantage of it to put a game worth playing?

    If Star Fox Zero is delayed to summer could that be good sales-wise?

      Only NoA uses that bullshit excuse. Unfortunately for them, most of us aren’t falling for their lies.

              Careful how you say that. These “he’s just one person compared to hundreds of others that died” assholes might think you don’t care about the other hundred or so that died that day. I hate hearing that bullshit. You wouldn’t say that to someone that just lost a family member, so it’s just as fucking despicable to tell that to someone that is mourning the death of a celebrity they really liked.

      1. NOA is starting on getting in my nerves because all they do recently is bullshit:too late 4 games,stupid bundles:mm didn’t come with the game only the console,store exclusive amiibos,etc.NOA get yoir shit together seriously-.-

    Please stay a rumor. Of course, if they haven’t been working on putting online multiplayer into this game & this delay rumor is true because they just now decided to fucking add online multiplayer & need a few more months to add it, it’s going to suck to have another delay but fuck it. I’ll take the delay if it means online multiplayer which should have been something that was in mind from the get go. Miyamoto, this is why you are out of touch. I’m sorry, we love your past work, but please join the rest of us in 2016! If Pikmin 4 isn’t Pikmin 2 on steroids with online multiplayer if they have an offline multiplayer mode, retire faster, Miyamoto!

    1. “Miyamoto, please join the rest of us in 2016”

      LOL! One can imagine the following situation:

      – Miya-san, we need chat with Reggie to talk about business decisions ASAP.
      – Okay, let’s write him a letter!
      – Isn’t it easy just to Skype him?
      – I don’t get you… Escape? Escape him from where? Is he under arrest?
      – No, Skype is a instant messenger which allows both voice and video calls.
      – Hum, interesting. Never heard about video calls, only about video games. But, anyhoo, how can we do that?
      – Through any computer with a mic and a webcam connected to the internet.
      – Internet?

    2. Your an idiot it’s all platinum fault. They can’t work fast enough to Miyamoto’s standards. Miyamoto isn’t out of touch at all. He has stated he knows people want F-Zero. Miyamoto knows what people want but that doesn’t mean he HAS to give that. It’s his game it’s his work and his time and effort not the fans. You don’t give all fans what they want cause most things would ruin the game.

      1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

        Please. More like Miyamoto is holding Platinum back. You clearly haven’t played any of their awesome games like Bayonetta 2. If you had, you’d know it’s Miyamoto that’s fucking up. The old man needs to retire if he isn’t going to join us in 2016. But believe what you want, sheep. You’re the perfect customer for Nintendo: too stupid, or too ignorant, to demand what YOU want because YOU are the one paying for their games in the end. Then again, you’re probably still a kid so mommy & daddy buy your games for you.

    3. I laughed so hard reading this. I just imagine a spoiled brat on the ground pounding his fists, having a temper tantrum.

      Star Fox has always been about the single player. The only entry that even had good multiplayer was Assault, and that was because of the ground combat. IF they add multiplayer to this game, I’m willing to bet no one will actually give a shit after 5 matches or so.

      What Star Fox NEEDS is some new mechanics, and a return to form. Both of which are happening BECAUSE of Miyamoto. The last thing this currently shitty industry needs is him retiring. At least he makes GAMES and not interactive movies. But, I forgot I’m arguing with an entitled brat. Just like most “gamers”

      1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

        Thanks for your opinion on this matter. For the record, it’s not being an entitled brat but being a consumer that knows what HE wants. But I don’t expect a pro-company, anti-consumer fanboy to understand what being a consumer is. Good day to you, little Nintensheep. Maybe you’ll see the bigger picture some day.

      1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

        Considering Star Fox is known to have multiplayer & if Star Fox Zero will also have multiplayer, it damn well better have both offline AND online multiplayer. Read the end of my comment again before I told Miyamoto to retire faster. Let me just copy & paste it here with the key part all caps so some of you can see it better.

        “If Pikmin 4 isn’t Pikmin 2 on steroids with online multiplayer IF THEY HAVE AN OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER MODE, retire faster, Miyamoto!” Miyamoto needs to catch up to the rest of us in 2016 & realize multiplayer has both an offline & online mode these days. If it’s missing offline but has online or has online but missing offline, it’s half finished multiplayer.

          1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

            So it’s ignorant to expect a game that has offline multiplayer to also have an online mode? In 2016? Okay. Whatever you say. But it’s to be expected from you. Like I told alexsmith113, thanks for your opinion on this matter.

  6. I hope it’s to add online mp mode, i mean they need to look at how well splatoon is doing and realize online would help star fox out a lot..

  7. Nintendo Sub-Commander Cereza

    I like how ambitious PG has always been. I’m still glad they got to work on a popular Nintendo IP.

  8. Well we all know what Miyamoto himself has said-

    “A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”

    This makes it the second, maybe third time Zero has been delayed though. Hopefully this means they’re finally realizing we can’t gather in our friends’ basements to play SF multiplayer like when we were kids and are adding online play. If that is the case, then I welcome the extra development time.

    1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

      “If your “friends” can’t come over to your house & play games with you, you obviously don’t have any friends to begin with. Quit lying, you friendless loser! Online multiplayer is only for people that have no friends, after all!”

  9. It had a release date. April 22nd I swear to god if it gets delayed again I will hunt down every platinum games dev and end their careers as game devs.

    1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

      Thanks for making this comment. Now I don’t feel bad at all for insulting you further up. You are an idiot after all.

  10. Pingback: Star Fox Zero: uscita rimandata all'estate 2016 ?

  11. This better be to add online. If it doesn’t have online after delay then that’s complete idiodicy. I know Platinum Games aren’t the one at fault here though, it’s Miyamoto that insists on all games being about local play in the same room, and I see where he’s coming from, but that’s no reason to impose that one full releases of games and leave out crucial features. Eventually that personal pet peeve mindset is going to destroy Nintendo as a dev in this age. Platinum games need to push Miyamoto on this, but last time I checked Platinum games workers were nerve wrecks in presence of Miyamoto as this is the legendary game designer saving the video game industry.

    1. I agree with myamoto-san, online is for me jsut saddo who don’t have friends. I feed of people like you who want every thing to be online. Look Wow. tantafall, even fifa are games you should play. Sony and microsoft would like you as consumer no need to impose that to nintendo.

  12. well Nintendo don’t release games in the summer so I don’t think the rumour is true, saying that 19 September is still considered as summer. If the delay is cause by adding ONLINE multi-players for people who don’t have friends well that’s just sad. But I guess the aim is to make money at the end of the day. I just hope they charge the idiots who want to play online (cause a server is not cheap to run) and don’t put that option in the face of everybody. Especially those who don’t give a toast about online multi-players.

    1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

      I didn’t realize you were this out of touch, man. You actually believe people that want online multiplayer don’t have friends? Well a very small percentage is that way but most want online because in order to make use of offline multiplayer, you have to have get togethers. Not everyone has friends that live in close proximity. Some of us have friends that moved away, some of us have made meaningful friendships with people on the internet that live far away, some of us have friends that live in the next town or next county & can’t afford to come visit every weekend. Just because YOU have it easy with friends doesn’t mean the rest of us do.

      1. I got your point but are you telling me that all games should have multi-player online??????

        You guys who advocating for multi-player online think it as a must have and de facto for all games.

        On the top of that are youtell me that all your friend scaterred around US playing the same game at the same time???

        Online multi-player should stay optional and at the discretion of the developper.

        Multiplayer online for me means that offline mulitplayer or standalone campagne has been sacrificed for the game to be on time and on budget. How many games you saw and wondered?: ” if they have spent a little bit more time on this and that, the game will be perfect”.

        Online multi-player is also not a Synonyms of future. Bear in mind that some countries does not have (and will not have soon) a good internet infrastruct as US or some part of Europe.

        So it easy for you (not just you personally) to demand online multi-player just because you have it easy with YOUR internet connection when a lot of countries in the world just have the bare minimum to send an e-mail.

        1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

          Like I said up above, if you are going to have offline multiplayer for people that can get together for couch time, it’s only fair to have online multiplayer for those that can’t get together for couch time. This sacrificing one mode because half of the people that might buy the game can’t use that mode has got to stop. People that can use such a mode shouldn’t be screwed out of it because the other half can’t use such a feature. That’s like making video games, tv shows, & movies that is just a black screen with audio only so the blind people don’t feel left out because others can see & they can’t. Or video games, tv shows, & movies with CGI, live action, & animation but no audio so the deaf people don’t feel left out. Etc, etc.

          You know who people like you sound like when you say “Fuck online! Just give us that don’t like online or can’t use online an offline mode! Fuck online for those that want it!”? You sound exactly like the racists not happy with the new Star Wars movie because it dared to have a black guy be a main character.

          1. ??????? again I understood your point but then when you going on about me being racist….. don’t agree with you.

            Again the like of you who want online in ALL and every single games has to stop as well.

            Saying that there are games where online multi-player make sense i.e. Mario kart, COD, Fifa where some would not make sense (assassin’s creed series)

            You mentioned that I sound like I say “fuck online.” … not completely wrong but not completely right either. I just would like to add that On your camp you guys sound like: “I kill you (Nintendo) if you don’t give me online multiplayer and voice chat”. You camp (online capability on every single games) are the other side of the same coin. I am just afraid we will have to disagree on that subject. As usual it always nice to argue with you :-) even if we disagree.

            However, a bit out of the subject, who complain about a black guy being the main character in Star wars… it must be a US thing cause I never heard of it until you stated. to be honest I don’t tend to follow star wars news… weird and sad to be honest.

            1. Honestly, I am in America, and aside from one or two mentions by the media, I never heard any complaints about a black guy in Star Wars. I’m sure there were people who did, but fortunately I didn’t have to witness it. As far the online camp, I don’t think anyone has said they are going to “kill” Nintendo haha. Personally I don’t post online much (these days I don’t play offline much either sadly), but I do see the need for some games to have online. Not all games need it as you said. But some definitely should have it.

              1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

                I honestly don’t see why we can’t have both if a game is going to have multiplayer. Hell! Half the work is already done for them! Is it really that hard to implement both?

                1. If it’s multiplayer then yes, but games that are normally single player I don’t see why. But I have never tried one like that. Perhaps you can tell me why some single player games get online multiplayer? Like I mentioned above somewhere, I don’t play online much, so my knowledge is severely lacking. But trust me, I’ll side with the pro online camp 9 times out of 10.

                  1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

                    I’m all for not adding any multiplayer into a game that is normally a single player experience. But if a game is gonna have it, I expect both offline AND online. Same for games that have an online mode but no offline mode.

            2. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

              I didn’t mean for it to sound like I was calling you racist. Just stating how you sound similar to those people. But yeah. Agree to disagree. I wish people like alexsmith113 would do this. Instead, they want to be assholes & pretty much tell me to go fuck myself. So being the defensive type, I pretty much tell them the same. If they’d agree to disagree & let that be the end of it, I’d gladly respect their responses to me more often. But if someone is going to be an asshole to me, I can do the same right back. lol I hate arguing but I will do it if I have to.

              Yes. That is happening with Star Wars. Thankfully, I’ve only seen a few people like that on Yahoo but apparently there are people like that in the Star Wars fanbase. Even now the Star Wars fanbase is split right down the middle. If it’s not over the prequel trilogy, the Ewoks, or Jar Jar, it’s over something else. Over the last year, I’ve been slowly realizing that Yahoo is full of a shit load of assholes, mostly far right rejects, since I’ve been reading a bit more Yahoo based articles, though.
