Take A Look At The Pokkén Developer Interview With Hoshino and Harada

With the release of Pokkén Tournament just over 5 weeks away, GameXplain has had the chance to interview the developers of the game, Masaaki Hoshino and Katsuhiro Harada from Bandai Namco.

During the interview, Katsuhiro Harada explained that he is more of the overall producer of the game and Masaaki Hoshino worked more on the development side. They also talked about the development of the Pokkén Tournament title and how the idea came about, mentioning that the CEO of the Pokémon company, Tsunekazu Ishiara, had the idea of the name “Pokkén” from the start.

“Tsunekazu Ishara said he wanted to do a collaboration with Tekken if he was going to work with Bandai Namco.”

Harada and Hoshino were also asked how the game has evolved since its reveal two years ago, they responded by explaining that the team had been working on making the Pokémon look as realistic as possible, and that this was often a challenge as there is a certain limits to achieving the desired effect.
