We heard earlier today that The Legend of Zelda will be releasing on both the Wii U and the NX in 2017 and that it will be Nintendo’s only playable video game at E3 2016. Well, to soften the blow a little Nintendo released the first official artwork for the game and it admittedly looks gorgeous.
That does look pretty sweet. It does not comfort me one bit tho.

then they are going to say something about it if its gonna be released next year, zelda U is the game, nx is the major news.
It seems you forgot that other publishers are dropping out or are not fully participating in E3. You also forgot that E3 has had a history of times where the same thing happened and the trade show almost died as a result of it. Publishers are increasingly not interested in this anymore and you can blame the ESA for that.
Forgive my ignorance… What is the ESA? And what did they do?
The Entertainment Software Association. They’re the ones that own E3. They tried to expand the trade show into something it was not without doing things like opening up to the public and a bunch of other things that ticked off Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and EA regularly. Remember when 2008 was an EXTREMELY bad year? You might not have also noticed that the event had smaller amounts of people showing up (if not, I don’t blame you; the media and the ESA did well to mask it, but it’s not entirely hard to find the truth).
Now we’re in this year. EA, Disney, and a third publisher already dropped out earlier this year. Ubisoft said their showing will be limited. Now Nintendo is doing the same thing as Ubisoft.
I don’t necessarily think that they actually have nothing to show, but I think that they’re starting to feel like E3 isn’t worth it anymore. E3 is a trade show. Its purpose isn’t to show us stuff; its purpose is to show off the games so that stores will be convinced to sell the game. The only reason why we’re seeing this stuff and the game companies are trying to cater to use is because the publishers now WANT to cater to us instead of the stores (since the stores are going to pick up their stuff regardless), but the ESA didn’t evolving the show to do so. They did more BS like making a separate show called “E for All”. While it was successful for a couple of years, they stopped it entirely and never did it again.
The ESA doesn’t know what they’re doing and these companies know it. Now they’re slowly backing away from them, but they only reason it looks like some years are really full and some aren’t is because the hype is still there for it, so most are reluctant to fully pull out. Once the companies large enough start pulling out, others slowly follow, and then you know it’s not going to be a good E3 for that year. And I don’t expect this year to be any different.
If the ESA opened it up to gamers in general years ago and not made it feel like an exclusive media club like it already is, then I’m pretty sure that things would be okay.

Because judging by this picture, if her track record is flawless or nearly flawless, then I personally feel that she’s WAY off this time (but correct about the NX rumour, at least).
Emily Rogers is “meh”. She’s stated some things for years that never came to pass, or took much longer than she stated.
Being right on it being on NX isn’t a pass at all, EVERYONE thought it’d be on NX. Plus, I’m pretty damn sure she said it’d be 2016.

Pretty sure I heard something about one of them having problems a long while back. But it could be that pictures just don’t translate their looks very well these days because the one in that Beauty & the Beast movie back in 2011 with Vanessa Hudgens looked pretty good to me. I’ve seen quite a few pictures on the net of very attractive women that don’t really paint them in a good, physical light, after all. Not to mention they both seem pretty busy with other things & stress is a real killer on the looks if you aren’t too careful.

XCX proved you can make a world that big and still have it full of content. Literally each hexagon in XCX world has something to do, which is already more than any zelda game ever did

I will say I think its a mistake to wait to release the game at the same time as the NX. I say this because I feel it would help push Wii U systems, not that it matters now much, but it would help. And besides, lots of people have been expecting this major game for a heavy long while. I’ll still buy it, just sucks it’s been pushed back even further down the road.

Probably because Nintendo expects most people will get the NX version since the Wii U is dying & only has a small ass install base. So they don’t want the small minority of Wii U owners getting this game to ruin it for those that are going for the NX version as they post spoilers online. Good thing I got the PS4 when I did cuz it seems the Wii U is in another game drought.
I doubt that’s the case, although I see the point about people posting spoilers, I’d say that’s just to damn bad. Nintendo shouldn’t be making loyal long waiting fans wait longer for a major game like Zelda, all for a simultaneous release. Its cheap, it makes me think people think they should just forget the Wii U needed it a while back, and just move on to buy a NX because it’s coming to that system as well. Idk, like I said, this is some of the practices that I feel are very ultra shady.
If this was FFXV where the game was in development for well over 10 years, I’d actually agree. But it’s been 4 years at best. Could be worse, though. It could be exactly like Twilight princess where the Wii version came out a month BEFORE the GCN version. >.<
At this point, it’s just as bad as that. With Nintendo, every home console should have a main Zelda game to support that console’s life span, hell N64 had two main Zelda games. It hurt the Wii U BIG time when they started delaying it little by little. People get turned off of the system. Nintendo made the Wii U a fail by not being ready for this generations competition, or they’re own console’s release. Its sad, because I understand it, why they want it to be perfect, but now it just seems like a main Zelda game isn’t going to happen until the next NX iteration comes about. If that makes sense.
Only have Nintendo to blame, sadly. They messed up with Wii U & weren’t fully prepared. They really should have held off on releasing it til they could make it a bit more on par with the competition.
