Update: We have gotten a better translation of Paramount Japan’s tweet, thanks to inazumag11.
Paramount Japan has announced on their Twitter account that the official Japanese Sonic movie website is now open. At the moment, the website only has the sneak preview of Sonic’s redesign that was released earlier this month. The official tweet declares that “the video game franchise 800 million people have been enthusiastic about is going to be made into a live-action movie”. You can see the tweet down below.

I don’t think it’s 800 million. SEGA and Paramount must be desperate to say such things.
You must’ve forgot the 90s. Sonic was like Mario back then.
Unfortunately, I barely know about Sonic at that time. The former husband of a female cousin brought a SEGA Genesis and I only play Sonic 2 like one or two days, because he never brought it again.
And how many of those 800 million people are enthusiastic about this film? Because I am not one of them.
