Nintendo is set to launch a its proposed forecast channel today for those of you who’re connected to the Wii Connect 24/7 service.
The information is being relayed in an email that’s currently being sent out automatically to Wii consoles that are connected to the online service stating Nintendo’s intention to have the forecast channel up and running later today.
Numerous rumours have been flying around the Internet about the in-game possibility’s this channel could ultimately open up, especially in titles such as Animal Crossing where your local weather could correspond to what the conditions are like in game.
Yup, I got it!
Just after I finished writing this I switched on my Wii and crossed my fingers, I clicked on the system update tab and low and behold there it was fully working. It’s a great addition to the channels and I hope Nintendo continues to implement more of them on a fairly regular basis :)
I just downloaded it also! It is pretty darn cool! I like the “Google Earth” feel to the whole thing. The 5 day forecasts, and neat little graphics also make it all the more intuitive!
Oh, and btw, the Wii Opera Browser is slated to launch December 22nd. I posted an article about it in my blog:
GameNation
Its very cool. It could of had more depth but its still good.
I was also impressed with the Google Earth inspired globe, although I’m unsure at just how beneficial it’s going to be in the future. I’m definitely intrigued about the upcoming web browser and how, and if, it reinvents the way we browse the web for information.
