Outspoken games industry analyst Michael Pachter has hit back at Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s keynote at the Game Developers Conference 2011 stating that “long term, Nintendo is doomed.”
Pachters overally harsh words stem from Satoru Iwata’s recently delivered GDC keynote statements, during which the Nintendo president blasted games developers emphasis on social and mobile gaming, claiming that developing low-cost, high-return games with little regard for “quality” will inevitably hurt the industry.
If you go long-term enough, we are ALL doomed.
Because as we all know, Pachter has NEVER made a wrong prediction.

Nintendo won’t go out of business anytime soon, and whoever thinks that just isn’t using legitimate logic. Sony, however, probably will. They probably won’t go out of business completely, but after the NGP comes out, I don’t see them making anymore video game systems due to their lack of sales.

I agree. SONY hasn’t got a lot of cool games and I think this NGP is going to fail. It isn’t something totally new, or different. But the 3DS has 3D technology.
most are just franchises from PS2 and the rest are just games that also come out on 360
I have to agree. Sony produces good content, granted – That’s all well and good… However, their business mind and strategy is hugely lacking. They think, let’s pump our consoles with steroids and promote violence, get lots of money and be powerful – Instead of what they should be doing, making great games that appeal to as many people as possible. I’ve noticed they copy a lot from everyone else right at the last minute. This can be proved with having a touch pad on NGP, which is different but they thought “Nintendo has 1 touch screen, we’ll have one but make 2 areas that are touch sensitive just to beat them” and that’s my point, they only care about beating the competition and not being a business and caring about what they’re doing. Also, I notice their sudden addition of tilt functionality, simply because 3DS has it – I’d buy NGP as well as 3DS I’m already getting if I could afford it but the way they do things is way too immature to me.

Nintendo has always been around and will be. They have the most experience when it comes to gaming market. I’m not a fanboy but I like the style Nintendo handles things.
They have their own style and they stick with it. Hands down Nintendo & Shigeru Miyamoto.
